There are honestly legitimate technical reasons for it, based on the way cameras record light. (which is all a camera does) A webcam with a small lens will have a hard time perceiving changes in contrast especially in low light conditions. Since the software was designed on algorithms of tracking contrast, it makes it slightly harder to track darker skin. Same reason on a camera you also have to adjust gain for skin tones. :biggrin:
