    Greetings-

I was just turned onto this forum by a very close friend of mine and fellow surfer (can't remember his log in ID, he's a Grateful Dead/Phish/psychodelics fan, so it's prob jerrybear1 or something :)).

Anyway, I was born and raised in Orange County and attended USC. A water polo injury derailed my swim scholarship (among other things :p) but I still managed to graduate on time in 2004 and have been working in the risk management field ever since (if that's not an oxymoron, I don't know what is).

Basically, besides close friends I keep in contact with Facebook (many of whom know of my "alternate lifestyle", other do not) I haven;t really found a rad forum or community regarding life, the universe and everything like this one... until now!

So, I just wanted to give a "what's up?" and introduce myself to hip. I have already read some threads and am looking forward to diving into some of the more pertinant issues and meeting some new friends along the way.

Hope you all have a bitchin' day!

P.S. Swell is good right now in So Cal, just got some insane barrels today so I am in a particularly good mood. Greatest sensation on Earth next to sex and, depending on the wave, that's cutting it close.

Thanks bud. Yeah, you would think snowboarding and surfing would go hand-in-hand but it just doesn't work that way. The center of gravity is different, learning to use the edge of your board is different as well. I have surfed since I was 12, used to compete, was sposored (so I am not too bad :)) but I have and always will be a mediocre snowboarder.

But practice makes perfect. Knee problems have kinda hindered my snowboarding as of late, but I sure hope you keep giving surfing a try. You won't regret it. It's definitely my spiritual connection in this crazy, mixed-up world and has done a lot of good for me.

Thanks for the welcome bro and I hope you score some powder soon!

    Peace
