How do you pack the perfect bowl? What is a perfect bowl?

-When you hit it (ideally), there's no air, all smoke.
-It stays cherried

What do you think is the perfect bowl? How do you pack it juuuust right.

Right now, what I can think of is packing it tight, this seems to help it stay cherried.

just pack it a little bit if you pack it too much air doesnt get to it and it kills itself. or just hit it often so it doesnt go out.

 

depends on the bowl and quality of pot.
If it's a regular metal bowl with good quality nugget (light fluffy and wet), just pick off a ~1/3 gram piece of bud and put er in. If it's midies and you need to look for seeds, i usually break open the buds and look for seeds and then lightly pack the bowl uniformily.
If you have a water bong that you want to clear in one hit then i pack about 1/5 of a gram very loosely and as finely as possible.

 

How would you have smokless air in your pipe while smoking? This baffles me.

I just load and toke, I can't see how there would be very many different techniques.

 

Grind it up so it's small enough that you could roll it into a joint easily. Then put a little nug over the hole in the bottom of your bowl (if it's got no screen) and then put the finely ground stuff in, don't PACK it, but just touch it so it's all smooth and nicely level.

It's an art.

 

okay, a good bowl imo starts with about half of the weed you are putting in grinded and half broken up pretty well but not as small as a grinder. Mix those two, put them in a bowl (.3 to .5 are my typical bowl sizes) and pack them down a bit (relatively loose). Finally, take some keif and top that bad boy off.

It's a 3 stage packing process. After you have everything finely ground with the stems and seeds taken away you pack the first layer. It should cover the hole if there's no screen, and not be packed down at all. The second layer will bring the bowl up to about 80% full. This should be packed down lightly. The third and final stage should fill the bowl the the brim, and should be packed down with some mild force. If you have some keif, throw it on top after that.

I usually break off part of a bud (I don't have to look for seeds lol) , shove it in there and smoke it.

The perfect bowl IMHO - 3/4 non-grinded bud (pulled apart - sans the seeds if any) with 1/4 of hash sprinkled in. It will let you get to the couch, usually.

i like killswitchdj's. mine varies depending on what kind og bud i've got at hand, but for example ill tell you what i did last night...:

First, if there's any shit in the pipe from last time smoking, get it out. If you've got a filter, make it nice and unblocked... if not, find a rock or pack it down lightly (this takes a bit of practice so that you dont breathe any ash in). Yesterday I had some roaches, a bit of stem, the last of my bud, and a bit of vape remains left. First I went with the stems, cause I assume at the bottome of my bowl I'll probably smoke less of them. Then roaches mixed with the vape remains, with bud on top and lightly stirred.

I light my bowls on the side usually, so they burn as little as possible, and always cover 'em up after I take a hit so as not to lose any smoke.

 

What do you do when about 1/4_/2 the bowl is ashed?

I pack my bowls with a big sixe nug on the bottom then some small broken up pieces in the middle then some shake at the top. I try to pack it so its stays cherried the whole time.

If its big bowl I might stir it around about haft way through the bowl to expose some fresh pieces.

 

the smallest, finest peices all the way through (with a screen), it cherries awesome like that

 

I've found the best way (to me, anyway) is to take a decent sized nug and rip it into smaller pieces before packing it in. Not to tight, of course. =)

At one point I recall a friend of mine having a shoe box half full of just pure shake. We'd just dip my bowl in, brush off the top, and spark it up. I can't say I minded it either, always cherried wonderfully!

i like to mix shake and really small pieces of weed in my bowl. depending on how big the hole in the bowl is i'll use a stopper nug.

 

hmm, varies... there's three things i do, sometimes in combination with each other...
1. stir it around
2. blow the top of the bowl very lightly
3. press down the weed/ash a bit so it's more packed and easier to light.

 

I like to accumulate all the resin I in my bowl that I can....for a rainy day. So I try and add some fresh smoke when it gets about half gone. The never ending bowl lol...
