I'm not new to acid, but recently I have upped the hits that I'm taking from a wimpy one, to two hits. This past weekend I didn't have a horrible trip per say, but I did freak out. I started to see the paint peel off the walls and I just felt very uneasy (although the beginning of my trip was amazing, it just turned bad later on).

Later tonight I'm going to drop two again... What's the best way to avoid another freak out (or a bad trip) and if I do start to feel that way again, is there a way to snap out of it?

I love me some cid and I'd hate for it to turn into a reoccurring thing.

if visuals like that bother u maybe cid isnt ur thing? i could bewrong and u may jus not be used to it yet or somethin. i mean u xpect weird shit like that to happen wen u trip. it comes with the territory. if u ever start to freak jus sit down, relax, focus on ur breathing and center urself. that always works for me

That's not what I meant. It wasn't the visuals that made it bad in the first place. Something just happened and I just started thinking in a bad way that made me feel uneasy. And then I started seeing things that sort of I guess... reflected how I was feeling. I guess what I'm looking for is if I get myself in that negative rut (and start seeing shit I'm not liking) is there a way that I don't know about to get me feeling positive again.

yes, change your setting. realize your tripping and just let go (as mentioned earlier). by letting go, i think of it as just going with the flow. if you start feeling bad or whatever, change something, could be as simple as the song your listening to. get your mind off the bad feelings and change your atmopshere. i usually go outside and drag a cig...from there youll do other things, walk around, explore, whatever.

Alright cool, I'll defiantly try that if it happens again. Only thing is.. I'm in the middle of quitting ciggs, so I'll have to find a different solution haha

    where you live in NY?

they are just visuals, they aren't gonna hurt you
the negative thoughts are a little more difficult to deal with
just remember that you're on a drug and it'll be over in awhile

what were those negative thoughts you were having?

    Rochester.

I just started to think about shit in my life. And the feelings were just so intensified and turned irrational. I really did lose my mind that night haha. I was trying to hemp to get my mind off of it and I couldn't follow or think about what I was doing it while watching my hands try and do it lol

no shit? i live in rochester too!

well many things seem foreign on acid. there have been times where i could barely figure out how to hit the bong. so the fact that you couldn't "hemp" (make a necklace or something i presume) doesn't surprise me.

the best way to stop those thoughts is just tell yourself that you're being irrational. if you start to get negative, just say "that's stupid. i'm supposed to be having fun"

Delve into your self loathing, and determine why it's happening

I bet that's not the advice you were looking for!

she's a fickle bitch that Lucy. Don't try to control her. You need to woo her.

haha nice! that's what i was thinking.

i think it's good advice to "delve into the self loathing" and try to figure out WHY
but it can be unpleasant to do so, but also rewarding afterwards
    maybe that's what "itsallgood" meant?

and yea, sometimes the "scary" part of the trip can be just as fun!
but then again, mine have never gotten too bad, so i can't say for sure

allright iam going to start being more defining lol....I meant it as the best peice of advice could be not to drop, but that could be the worst peice of advice because its not something i would like to hear if i wanted to drop...

thats really it. as is always the healthy way (sober or tripping) the way to move from fear and negetivity is by moving through it. only way to release pain is by feeling it, if you decide not to....to distract yourself, that may work for the time being, but your still going to carry it with you.

like life, at some points tripping becomes a form of medicine and healing, vs. a form of entertainment. for we are constantly aquiring stiffness and rigidity through worldly confrontations that ultimatly need to be disspelled. its these confrontations in life that show us just where we need to work on ourselves.
only way to break this cycle is to hold a vision of health and to have come to a place in our own self healing where we have the strength to maintain this vision.

healing is a real vulnerable process, broken up into 3 distict stages. breakdown....balance....charge up. ya gotta honor each stage.

thank god our hearts know the way.

I say: dont try to 'snap out' of it, rather try to 'snap in' to it.. accept it and then propell into something else. It is there in your mind so you cant run away from it without moving your mind somewhere else. But if you resist it and think about other things, you will have to keep resisting it and it will burrow into your emotions.
If, instead, you just accept it like you might in a dream, and just move on to the next scene, rather than 'escaping' then your mind will just absorb itself with the next stage, rather than holding onto the negativity in your subconscious.

But yer, the truth of life is that its hard to deal with. Dont run away from negative feelings. If you are afraid of a chemical imbalance, then just dont take drugs. If you are taking drugs then you have said 'ok, i am willing to risk my long term health for a chance to become something more'.
So when you come up against negative thought patterns, assume that they are merely a bump in the road, but accept them as being bumps in your life, rather than trying to drive around the speed hump. Feel the bump and learn to appreciate smoothness. That way, you can learn to recognise smoothness, and this will help you travel over future speed bumps more smoothly.
