In your own backyard. (I could have posted this in the grow section but I wanted everyone to see it) Years ago I was at a friends house visiting. We were sitting on lawn chairs in his backyard. He likes to garden, and he had a few dwarf fruit tree's, a couple of tomato plants, stuff like that. And scattered in his back yard were 5 shrubs, each under a chicken-wire dome, about 3' high by 4' wide. They had bright red berries growing on them. I asked him why there was a chicken wire dome over these plants and he said "the dam birds keep eating them". Anyway we're sitting in the back yard talking, and I'm next to one of these shrubs. It freaked me out because the leaves looked just like pot leaves. But I also know there are several plants that have leaves that look like pot. So I keep looking at these plants. I know they couldn't be pot because pot grows in a christmans tree shape and doesn't have berries. I reach over and grab a leaf, then smell it. "Dam" I said. My friend says "What?" I said "These leaves even smell like pot leaves." Smiling, he says "pick one of the berries." I did. It was attached to the branch with wire. And it was plastic. My friend busts out laughing. He wanted to grow his own but had nosy neighbors, so he came up with a plan. When the plants were 1' tall, he topped them (cut off the upper 4"). This caused 2 branches to grow from that point. Then when those branches were 8" or so long, he topped them, making 4, and attached yellow plastic flowers. A few weeks later he topped the 4 new branches, making 8. Now he's got a bush. He put the dome on top and trained the plants so they stayed inside the dome. After awhile he started replacing the flowers with berries. I knew dam well what pot plants looked like, i had been growing for about a dozen years by that time. But the fact that they were shrub-looking and had berries fooled me. And it might fool YOUR neighbors. So get to it. Plant some seeds on 4/20. Grow a pot shrub. P.S. he got about 1/2 lb of quality buds per plant. Small buds, but it's total weight that matters.
That the same dude with the 7lb yield? I did an outdoor grow one time, but it was weird and I got paranoid, so I just started growing indoors. I'm dying to do an outdoor grow someday.
that is such an awsome idea! rangerdanger you are truly a vault of valuable knowledge. and you tell great stories! is there anything you cant do?
For laughs I would put a pair of cheep sunglasses on my pot plants and tell people it was to fool the cops.
to theshow, and electronaut: i asked if there was anything he couldnt do, not if there was anything he wouldnt do
I think they meant it as like..ranger couldnt tell shit stories because for him it would be impossible, and with the growing, he grows such good weed it would be impossible for him to gorw shit weed.......i think.
I've got to disagree bud. I think ranger has been growing quality buds for so long that he could no longer grow shitty weed even if he wanted to. In his mind, IMO, poorly grown weed isn't weed at all.
wow, this thread got off topic fast... i think that is an awesome, AWESOME idea. it´s one of those things where it´s so close infront of your face that you can´t even see it. as long as you had a big enough garden that was far away enough from neighbors (not right on the property line or anything) it could def. work.
Radical idea! Maybe when I get my own house I'll give it a shot, I'm not gonna try some risky shit like that in my parent's house that's messed up.
One man I knew in Montana who actually was running for political office, he's an attorney, had pot plants mixed in with his tomato garden. He and his wife were an older respected church going couple in conservative eastern MT, and I was over at their home one day working on a story and spotted the plants from her kitchen window. I didn't say anything, but I know what I saw there mixed in with their tomato plants there by his backyard fence. I knew they were cool folks.
