recently ive been reading about going of the grid but its not really going back to nature. So my question is how do i get back to nature?
Well, what do you think is going back to nature? If it means returning to a purely Stone Age lifestyle, I think it would be very, very difficult, if not impossible, for people from industrial countries to do. There are so many hurdles and pitfalls that I think most modern people would be dead in a month.
Bushmen and the like are taught basic survival skills starting in their youth... while we're playing video games and complaining that we didn't get an iPhone for Christmas, they're learning to hunt alongside master hunters, learning how to identify plants, learning how to avoid being eaten by bears, and generally developing a comfort level with all of the things that we shelter ourselves away from. If you want to get back to nature I would recommend studying those skills first... it will probably take you quite a while, and it would be best if you could study them with a knowledgeable person in the right environment. And the most important thing for you to have would be friends who want to do the same thing that you do. There are people who have survived without money or shelter, but you probably won't be able to survive without other people. And even then, there's a good chance that you'll either die, get arrested, or quit... nature is pretty brutal. But I think over time you could gradually ease yourself into a 'natural' existence. But there really is no avoiding society... the world just isn't set up for that kind of lifestyle, and most people would prefer to be comfortable. There are all kinds of books about transcendentalism and 'back to nature'... also, the Foxfire series is informative, especially the first volume. You can find a PDF online for free.
