Just watched Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and want to advise anyone who plans to go see it to leave as soon as the helicopter bit is over. That way you get a decent ending to a film, rather than possibly the worst one EVER. It's seriously Matrix levels of shite, except that at least with The Matrix you can just avoid two whole films, which requires less precision timing. Anyway, this thread is about good endings that are, and good endings that could have been. Good ending: Fight Club. Bad ending: Bridget Jones' Diary. I don't care if that's how the book ends, Paris would've been better.
the good: --Breakfast club --the Star Trek movie when kirk and spock go to the past to get some whales. --2001 Space Odyssey --Lola Rent. They were all good, even the actual ending. the bad: --the matrix(It really was a shitty ending) --Looking for Mr. Goodbar. She got stabbed to death in the vagina. wtf? --(the new) The Fly 2. It was so sad, with the deformed dog crawling out in his cage filled with hay. I almost cried I felt so bad for the poor thing.
I like the ending to Animal House. It's great to see what happens to the characters after the movie. Worst ending: Easy Rider. Movie kicks ass, but I always want to cry at the end.
Good: Trainspotting Empire Strikes Back Braveheart Spider-man Spider-man 2 CQ Swordfish Chasing Amy Saw Pulp Fiction Wild Things Basic Club Dread (the legs are fuckin' awesome) Wayne's World Cruel Intentions Alladin Lion King Godfather 1 & 2 A Time to Kill Cast Away American History X Fight Club Bad: 28 Days Later (all endings sucked) Texas Chainsaw Massacre Scream (2 many people lived) Any Halloween movie after 1 Trolls 2 Titanic any sucky movie
Good Endings: Usual Suspects Chronicles Of Riddick Pitch Black Dawn of the Dead(new one)(+ kudos points for Chainsaw death) Night of the Living Dead(original) Resident Evil Planet of the Apes(original) Bad Endings: Robocop 2 Planet of the Apes(new one) Scream(good ending but I dont like stab wounds to the stomach ouch!!!) Fight Club(fantastic film that goes slightly off the rails) Panic Room House of a 1000 Corpses(I wanted her to LIVE)
Thanks for the advice SelfControl. I'll save my money. It's a shame, because I like horror movies, but it's rare that you get a good one and painful having to sit through a bad one.
