To become a medical marijuana patient in Maryland, you need to follow these steps:

    1. Get a recommendation from a certified healthcare provider. The provider must be licensed to practice in Maryland and registered with the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission.

    2. Register with the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC) and obtain a valid patient ID number.

    3. Visit a licensed dispensary to purchase medical marijuana. You will need to present your patient ID card and government-issued photo ID.

    4. Follow state laws and regulations when using medical marijuana.
It is important to note that the healthcare provider who gives you the written certification must be a licensed physician in Maryland and must be registered with the MMCC. The physician must also certify that you have a qualifying medical condition and that medical cannabis may alleviate your symptoms.

Qualifying medical conditions in Maryland include cachexia, anorexia, wasting syndrome, severe pain, severe nausea, seizures, severe or persistent muscle spasms, glaucoma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and chronic pain.
