I just got my dreads. My hair was 1 1/2 inches long when I got the dreads put in, so they are pretty small. He used the white lock and twist gel to twist my hair. But I forgot to ask him what to do after I left. So can anyone help me? this is day three, can someone give me some insight on what to do next?
sounds like you got salonpwned...... my advice. wash that shit out of your hair as soon as possible and let them do their own thing. wear a hat for looks, and let them lock up in time. its the only way to get dreadlocks. google salon dreads if you want some lulz you dont want to be "that guy"
I have been. there are alot of white people on this site with hair that is pretty long in length when dreads where put in. so I havent found anything related to my situation. (I dont have a problem with white people having dreads BTW) I dont want anyone to think that.

it has nothing to do with white or black. the simple thing here is that most people on here are against products, and even moreso dont really like the look of dreadlocks that are relient on products. so as far as finding help in that regards your not really going to find much help on what products to use, or how to maintain them other then to find a residue free shampoo and how to manipulate them with your fingers if you really want to. most of what you are going to find here is people telling you to stop worrying about them and let them do their own thing, as most people here feel that that will create the most beautiful dreadlocks
So with mine being as short as it is, will they fall apart if I ignore them? Should I twist them everyday? I dont want to use products, never did, thats why I'm here. What should I do?
ok twists right? for a while they will start coming untwisted. you have two options: if you want maintained uniform locks then retwist when they come untwisted. how often do you wash your hair? i probably wouldn't wash for at least two weeks if not more if you can stand it. the other option is to let them untwist and maintain the sectioning to get some gnarly natural looking un-uniform locks (the look that is favored by most people on this site, but their opinions don't matter). after several months you can stop twisting as often or not at all. my man, for instance, only twist his about every two months, and washes about once a month. the process goes like this: wash, oil/gel, twist, clip twists in place, and dry. let me know if you have more questions. oh, also i wouldn't put any more gel/oil in your hair unless you get dried out easily. otherwise, you'll experience build-up.
well, i will check your album this time. but, for future reference people are more likely to help if you post pic directly in the thread. upload them to a n image hosting site, like photobucket.com. then just paste the image code () here.
wow those are teeny tiny. honestly the shorter the hair the less that you have to work with to create knots. it may be tough, but not impossible.
Before I used mouth wash I dilute 1 tbs of mouth wash to 4 L of water then i rinse it with water.. It funny but it is effective.. because the menthol kills the fungus and it kills bad adore.. This is only my opinion..
@Original Poster - You'll also realize very soon that there are alot of assholes here. An example is the person that posted above me.
