How should I finish this?

This is my first attempt at oil painting, and i'm liking the turnout so far :tongue:

How do you suggest i finish this? I was imagining a kind of dream-like theme... i'm going to give the guy a neck and shoulders, i just haven't gotten to it yet.

i think a dark cityscape could fit too, with silhouettes of ppl leaning against buildings, or you lots of other people with the same expression facing forward following him

 

I would have done the background first, but since you didn't, I like what tigerlily said

 

i always like colors in the background or a sun with waves coming out. maybe bubbles?

 

a distorted cityscape with the buildings kind of coming around the face. makes sense?

yea i usually wait for the picture to tell me what to put in the background, found at what it represents to you and use it to communicate this idea... maybe it is barak and it needs some sort of political tone... or maybe not


i suggest just gettin some herb and staring at it, you will think of something

 

a theme in the backround leading towards why the head whould be there

 

i just realized how similar the face is to the pink floyd the wall paintings, i totally dig it i love the colors you used...

 

Something that reflects his past, I suppose.

 

make the head float in the clouds, with some birds flying by.
