How Old Will One Be When They No Longer Are Able To Enjoy Sex?

As I have aged I have wondered how long I will be able to enjoy sex. Early in my life I wondered if old people, as in grandparents, still had sex. Then as I aged further I wondered if my aging parents still had sex. I found out through experience they all did. Then I began to wonder how old would one be when one cannot enjoy sex anymore. That was until I came across a couple in their 80’s still having sex and often. What will be the age I won’t be able to enjoy sex anymore? I have no idea. Hopefully that’s many years down the road. Thoughts, ideas, or experiences are welcome.

 

I feel like it's less important now that I'm all of 38 years. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy it were I having it.

 

I was a bit worried too as I was aging, I just didn't think, or didn't want to picture anyone over 30 having sex. Rookie mistake, I adapt to any new experiences I have had and use this knowledge almost every day.

I'm not worried about sex anymore, I'm just hoping I can stay in shape and look after myself enough to be somewhat attractive still when I'm 50+

Sex can be a very positive force or a very negative force. Nietzsche said a man's sexuality reached up to the very topmost of his being. I could highly likely enjoy sex until the day I drop dead. But the chances of maintaining a woman I find attractive enough to have sex with at an advanced age are pretty slim.

Neitzsche probably the last person one should listen too in regards to sex.

Doubt he ever had sex with a woman that wasnt a prostitute. And wouldnt be surprized if he liked to whip himself whilst sitting in oatmeal

 

I disagree. I think he understood the sex instinct very well. Especially the darker side of sexuality. But he transformed it into his writing.

I'm a elderly gentleman I still have a big sex drive,my wife realises this and we are still having good sessions.ln the last few weeks we have had sex with different people,We both agreed on this,and it as been great

 

Depends on your partner! It has crossed my mind as a possible downside of falling for someone not my own age group.. But answers in this thread are quite reassuring. Thanks everyone : D

 

I do think about this.

My 15 year marriage was basically sexless (years would go between sex).

I had my time where I slept around—-but my core is not wired to do that.

I am now 48; no partner and dealing with some medical issues that has me wondering how sex will feel *if* I get a partner again. *sigh*
