now that i'm graduating i'm pretty excited to be getting a full time job, saving up, and moving out into a cheap little place of my own. But i've realized, it's pretty hard to move out on your own in BC, Canada before you're 19. If you're under the age of 19 you can't really have anything under your own name, you can't even get a cell phone contract or credit card if you're under 19 here, unlike most other provinces where you only need to be 18. I don't believe you can really sign any contracts here until you're 19, i may be wrong though. How old were you when you moved out? If you were young, was it difficult?
I was 19 and had a co-worker as a room mate. She was 25 and had two children who also lived with us. That was a bit easier start than moving in somewhere and handling everything on my own.
Age 14 in 1975.My stepfather came home drunk and fired two shots at me from the 38 he always carried.I immediately moved into my aunts basement with my favorite cousin who was 16 and had a car.I started working for a roofer, then later worked offshore supply boats. In those days you could tell most people you were 19 and they wouldn't ask for I.D.
i was 18 when i moved out for college and then i moved back after that year, moved out again and moved back after that year, moved out again and then got evicted. back at home...it's best to save up, grow up a little (landlords will be pricks to you based on your age alone), and be able to STAY moved out. moving every 6 months blows hard
