    well?

I meditate every evening, unless i go out or drink, for around 0-15 mins.

Occasionally i will meditate for longer periods, once i went to a meditation class and meditated for just under an hour.

Im trying to step up the time i spend meditating because although sometimes it seems pointless, sometimes i reap the benefits.

just a few more minutes at a time. :D

For about a year, I would meditate every weekday morning for 5-10 minutes, and every weekday evening for at least an hour. On the weekends it was every moment I had alone when my son was asleep or if I wasnt reading or entertaining guests.
I really need to get back to my regular prayers, I've been slacking so much these past weeks and the negative results are manifesting in my mind daily! uh-oH!
    God bless

Twice a day. I get up and shower, then a short session of hatha yoga exercises, then meditate for 15 minutes to half an hour depending on how urgent it is for me to get to work. As soon as I get home I do yoga exercises again then meditate for 20 minutes to an hour depending on how much I fall asleep (lol). I also have a couple of timers and when I remember, I'll stop what I'm doing (when possible) every 30 minutes and try to clear my mind and keep it that way for 3 complete breaths. I also try to remember to breathe deeply as often as possible. If I'm watching TV, I'll mute it during commercial breaks and try to keep my mind clear of thoughts throughout the commercials. I try not to watch the commercials while still keeping tabs so that they don't get the advantage of getting their message deep into my awareness.

I'm always tempted to do more, so when I have days off, I'll put in an extra hour or two.

Do you ever feel a bit light headed at work after doing the morning meditation?

I never felt light headed in the sense of dizzy like during heavy weather, not just from meditation.

I used to meditate from two to four hours a day - not including hatha yoga and pranayama - back when I was in retreat.

Now I meditate from 5 minutes to an hour pretty much, once or twice a day and rarely a third time. I stopped at times for as much as five years once, but I fell back into drug use. My life was such that it has always been either spiritual pursuit or drugs. So spirituality has clear purpose for me.

I remember once around a Navaratri having a dream that three sisters weren't going to come up a tall hill to get me, when I was addicted to opiates. And I started seeing one of my gurus in my minds eye all the time like they hated me. I felt the world became really hostile. It thought I hated it, I felt, because I was on heavy dope. The feeling would not leave my mind for a second. I stopped being able to sleep. I had to cold turkey and get back to my practice. My very mind was in jeopardy.

    That was just an aside.

Have to practice a bit every single day.
Otherwise the mind falls back into ordinariness.
Which is like a French Chef having to consider working at McDonald's.

I've never felt light headed after meditation. Kind of spacy for a few minutes sometimes, but that's it.

Waking life has become my meditation.

I seem to have lost the desire for meditation periods. Now it runs all the time.

    I try to do both.

Mindful activity leads to mindful rest and vice-versa. [IMG]

as of late, I meditate daily in my room, for 20+ minutes.

but really, anytime you're observing something, and not thinking, that's meditating. like if you're driving on a highway, on the computer reading something, or just focusing on a single thing, thats meditating. its just a matter of slowing down(and deepening) your breath to help you slow your brain waves.

I do it throughout the day at different moments. I dont have a set regiment for it or place for it.

The highest I felt ever was when I went to a meditation day. 8 hours spent. AWESOME! I left there and one of my friends called to see if I wanted to hang out and drink that evening....there was no way I was gonna lower my vibration on that day.

I was doing it at least once a day for 15 mins but since schools started i've been having trouble getting it in. I'm either busy with something or I'm just to tired to do anything.

I have no clue what that means "Are you in a correct way?" I guess it means am I using the correct posture or method. Yes, I believe I am. I usually meditate on my back with my knees up. When I've been in a very deep meditative state for a while, when I first get up and start walking, I feel a little disoriented or maybe just a little out of my body or not fully connected to the material world. It takes a few minutes to "come back" into myself. That's what I mean by feeling a little spacy. It's kind of like when you are awakened from a deep sleep, it sometimes takes a little bit to feel fully awake and ready for action.

I try and aim for 15 minutes a day (I'm fairly new in my practice) but quite often, it changes to 15 minutes every couple days. Finding time is a bit of an issue for me.

I've found that practise varies depending on how you feel. So long as you practise regularly, there's no reason why 5,10 or 30 minutes once or twice a day will not bring about presence and awareness. Whilst it's good to meditate regularly, it's equally good to sometimes extend your practise. Meditating for longer say at the weekend when you may have more time can help you go into deeper states.

It's also important to note that progress is not necessarily measured by your "performance" whilst meditating. It's the time you're not meditating that you start to notice the changes.

    I sit for my soul!
