We're compiling a list of tips from ppl on how NOT to get busted by the police for marijuana offenses. Please add any you know to this list, which will appear on our new MJ website! Please keep the tips simple and to the point (we don't need to know all about your bust here). Thanks!
If you have a coat..(most people do lol) make a little sectret pocket in the inside were your back is. Cops dont check there. well atleast they didnt for me.
make yourself believe that you dont have drugs on you, act like you would if you did not have anything on you. always say yes to any searches, most of the time they wont even search, or will just take a short look. Don't look nervous or move your arms around or have a high pitched voice when u talk, look calm and collected and answer everything in short sentences and to the point.
look in their eyes, keep your back straight, dont put your hands in your pockets, don`t move too much, be friendly.
dont carry more weed than you are going to smoke at one time and preferably not more than you can eat if you have too.
If you lie you could get other charges. If you dont want to answer a question that could incriminate you then dont answer it.
yes,, theres never road blocks or police patroling back roads.... ill stick with my thought,, NEVER smoke in a vehicle....
This could be dangerous or ill advised unless people give better information in their tips and the reasons or source behind it. Already, the thing about lying isn't the wisest information. Luckily Alaxsxa pointed that out. Under your constitutions rights against self incrimination, you don't have to answer any questions whether voluntarily, whether being detained or whether under arrest. If you do start to answer question, however, you are expected to tell the truth and if not you could be charged with any number of crimes from obstruction to perjury. Look at Martha Stewart what they convicted her on, lying to the police. She should have said nothing. Barry Bonds has been indicted on perjury to a grand jury. Not answering questions isn't probable cause either. Here's my first tip. Learn about weapon checks and pat downs. This comes from a case in Ohio from the '60's known as Terry V. Ohio. A cop saw 3 suspicious men on the street and thought they were going to rob sometplace so he stopped them and frisked them for weapons even though he had nothing to arrest them on. He found concealed weapons on all 3 I believe and they were arrested. Terry's lawyer tried to suppress the evidence as illegal search and seizure but it would go all the way to the Supreme Court who would rule in favor of the prosecution. It was reasonable for a police officer to frisk someone down for weapons. This has lead to something called plain feel. If the police officer is frisking you for weapons and finds something that he may believe is illegal and can tell that by plain feel he can seize it. So let's say a police officer is questioning you and he wants to pat you down for weapons. If he feels a pipe or bag in your pocket, chances are that would be considered a reasonable search and you may be arrested for it. Judges tend to believe police officers when they say he had reason to believe you may have been armed or when they tell the judge they felt something. You are best to learn about this with a internet search so you get the exact info.
this is horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE advice!!!!! i cant believe you even just said that. if you consent to a search and they find ANYTHING, you dont have a chance. you let them search. it´s legal evidence. if you refuse a search and they still find something, at least you have a chance because it was an illegal search (depending on the situation). refusal of a search is NOT a reason to go ahead and search you anyways, "because you´re probably hiding something." dont act like "they´ve got you." you´re completely innocent.
I didn't even notice this until someone else pointed it out. That's really bad stuff right there. Are you from the U.S? and if so have you ever read The Constitution and The Bill of Rights?
