how much does it take for acid to be noticed, like if i took a quarter of a hit would it do anything?
It depends on you & the acid. I've went in a store on a 10-strip and didn't raise any eyebrows. I've also taken 2 hits and was glad I didn't leave my house.
Do you want to trip? Take the hit, theres no need fretting over it and taking half a hit or a quarter of a hit. Read up on it and be prepaired, if your seconding guessing the whole idea, or if your nervous about having a bad time then you should really reconsider undergoing such a thing.

how do you even take a quarter of a hit? For me a hit is always one drop. How do you split it. oh yeah, I doubt 1 would be too much. Maybe you should take 2. YOu don't go to the carnival just to ride the ferris wheel.
one is never enough. people tend to exaggerate on potency. I was told 2 would give me a wild ass trip, and it was only ok.... but as sated before, it depends on you a lot.
Go for two. I've had some decent cid... for me...1 is enough to notice it...but not enough to really get the full feel of it. Two should be enough to give you a decent trip, without becoming too overwhelming. But, like others have said, it all depends on the person, too. You have some experience with shrooms, so if you can handle those, you should be fine with a couple hits of cid. As long as you are in a good mood, and in a comfortable environment you should be fine.
It really depends on you. I would suggest you listen to the voice within you. For me with one you can notice it, two is alright, 3 is much better, 5 is nicely insane but than somebody can come and say that they think 10 is the best. One really didn't move me much but I've seen somebody having what you can consider a bad trip just from one. It was controlable cause it was one but imagine giving that person 5 immediatly. And 36fucking5 is right. I was gliding nicely with more and came back to less and voila it just happened. Emotions flying all over. I could see what is going on and I was amazed how much they were magnified. That was the time when I had a lot going on thru my mind and when I didn't feel like taking it. I was in a very good mood that day before taking it but my mind was not quiet. After that I choose to stop until I sort my thingy and after that I was fine. It depends very much from the state of your mind and what is going on with you in your life, set and setting and much more. Don't do something you don't feel comfortable with just because somebody said is the best. Play on a safe side there is always another time.
My norm is 2-4, but I have been known to take over 6 at a time (at festivals when I can just go outta my mind) I would never suggest this, I would suggest one hit for your first time, then after that you should be able to come up with a comfortable amount for yourself.
I had around half for my first time and found it a pleasant introduction with mild but very enjoyable effects and visuals.
