Hi, Me and 2 friends are going to the dam from the 13th to the 16th of march. I was just wondering how much spending money we should take to have a good time? we're only actually gettin 2 and a half days in the city. I was thinking around 250 euros each... but that would have to pay for food and drink aswell as all the fun... hehehe... wot do you ''experienced damers'' think? oh yeah and will fresh shrooms still be legal around then? Thanks!
depends on how much smoking, drinking and fucking you are planning on. for me? I like to spend around 100-150 MAX/ AVERAGE (that means some days it could be closer to 200) day. A good gram or two of smoke, couple of sucks or fucks, and some good chow and beer. It can be done Gotta find some cheap eats (not hard to do)
theres a crawl going down at barneys breakfast bar on the 14th it starts at 8-8:30 am it would b cool if u could make it
I'm taking about $5500 spending $ for my 14-day visit to the DAM. I hope that's enough! (First Amsterdam trip paranoia, I guess.) And Man, I wish some of you cats were going to be there in April...I'd really dig burning a few with you!
ive got got about 1500euros for a thursday to sunday trip! should be enough to get high and laid everyday!! i cant wait!!!!! 20 days!!!!
We're all males and all of us are English, my two mates r from Eastbourne but i actually live in Spain (Canary Islands). what about you and your friend? we should all meet up and have a smoke ! you guys r so lucky! i wish i could take that much cash to the dam! oh well, as long as i can get laid once or twice and smoke weed for 2 days im pretty happy! does anyone knw about the shroom legality situation?
dang $5500 is that USD or EUR? u is gonna b able to get REALLY REALLY stoned on that kind of cash i could only scrape up about $1350 EUR 4 my 10 day trip... i might b able to come up with a few more dollars
soz smiley420, forgot to answer to ur invite to the crawl... ill try and be down at barneys to catch it, i'd be delighted to come along! and im sure my friends would love it 2!
im not experienced in amsterdam but whenever i go somewhere i bring extra money just in case. bring a credit card and a bit of cash that way youre coverd both ways.
That's USD, but even with exchange rate, you're right; I plan to really burn'em up!:spliff: Thank goodness for tax refunds and a good company bonus!
It doesn't really get below 40 deg C. But, it does rain (quite heavy at times) and cold and nasty rain is no fun. But, for the most part Jan and Feb are the worst of it, and it never really snows.
OHYA tax return's cant b a useful thing i just got mine today woooooooooohoooooooooooo there's that extra cash i was looking 4 now i might b able to eat on my trip hahahaha
cool beans... if u cant make it to barneys on the 14th im trying to get another crawl going on the 17th at THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT(warmoestraat 53-55) ur more than welcome to atend both if ur up to it
holy fucking jesus guys, you're spendin' a lot of money. I'm probably goin in June, and I don't want to spend much more than €20-40/day! 'course, I won't be doing a lot of drinking or whoring, and I don't mind living cheaply.
To save a little money, if you exchange currency at a GWK Travelex currency changer, theres one in the Victoria Hotel right across from the Central Station. The first exchange they charge a commission over and above the exchage rate. But then they give you a voucher thats good for 6 months in the Netherlands for commision free exchanges. That saves alot of money, change a hundred and come back with a larger amount, for a free exchange other wise its pretty rough.
Question regarding GWK Travelex at Schiphol: If I exchange a “hundred” (USD) at the GWK Travelex in Pier F, where my international flight arrives, and get the “…voucher that’s good for 6 months in the Netherlands for commission free exchanges…,” and then cash a greater amount of USD at the GWK Travelex in Lounge 1 - Gates B/C (beyond Customs), will GWK Travelex honor the vouch, which I just got from Pier F? I got my Schiphol GWK Travelex location info off the Schiphol website. Apparently, Schiphol just open two more GWK Travelex branches. Otherwise, if anyone else has economic-friendly tips on exchanging American Express Travelers Checks in Holland, please let me know. I’m taking USD and travelers checks. And only using my credit card if necessary: I know it would be cheaper to use, but I don’t trust my U.S. banks at the moment. They’re doing everything imaginable to screw customers to re-coupe the banks’ losses due to the U.S. housing-market mess. My count-down is 31 days! And like I’ve said before, the exchange rate is going to be whatever it’s going to be…but I still plan on having a blast during my first time in the DAM. :spliff: Peace
