How much kief should you get from a quarter?

i got a quarter of great quality skunk and considered sepparating the kief from it because iv never seen so many trichomes on weed. Iv never been bothered to get the kief to make pollen before but there were so many crystals i thought i would, i got 0.3 grams of crystals out of 7 grams. I didnt have a great way of sepparating it but i used a sieve conected to a tubwith a lid on and put all the weed in it and shook it for a while.
Im going to do this with all weed i get from now on. How much do you usually get from good quality skunk? Also if it makes a difference this skunk is quite fresh so its heavier and not very dry.

Edit: found some kief i pressed solid when i was playing around with it earlier that weighs 0.2 so i actually got 0.5g out of the quarter

 

the weed wont get you as high, its not like your creating more somehow... you take whats there. But that said to each his own.

 

yeah i know that...i mean that out of 7 grams around .5 of it was kief. Im not saying that there was more

 

This would vary greatly from method of seperating and the strain. No straight answer. I personally just smoke the bud as is.

 

yeah im the same, just smoke it as it is but i had it in a whit dish and as i was looking at it i noticed the dish had a thin layer like snow covering the bottom so i sepparated it to see just how much there was...pretty good weed

 

I just use my grinder and whatever gets caught in the keif collection area I smoke. usually after a 1/4 of good bud I have a couple bowls worth I'd say.

 

You would probably get more kief off the weed if you ground it up and froze it over night, then shook it.

 

Dude you need a grinder with a kief catcher, trust me.

 

if i thought it would be worth buying i would but to be honest i prefer just to use my hands to break up bud...works just aswell and i like doing it too

 

You waste all the kief like that though... it sticks to your fingers... And if you have even mildly damp weed it will break up into condensed chunks... Not for me anymore

 

Breaking up weed by hand isn't bad at all. I just bought a grinder a month ago though, with a catcher

 

ahh but the amount your losing isnt going to add up to anything, you have a point bout damp weed though...its hard to break up. I buy nice leafy home grown when i can anyway much nicer high from it, skunk is good but it can be way too heavy sometimes and theres a higher chance of it being sprayed too.

also if you have long nails then its grand breaking up any weed...my thumb nails are usually a bit long for that

 

I like breaking up bud with my hands, I said to get a grinder so you can get a keif catcher. I would never buy a grinder without a keifcatcher, that would be pointless to me.

yeah i'll get one eventually...santa's bringing a vape for christmas so maybe i'll get i grinder with it
