I'm starting to like this quote more and more.

What do you appreciate more now than you did before?

i really like that one, too. you really get to know someone when they're angry and trying to "win," too.

    i'm appreciating warm days more.

Title reminded me of Fight Club.

I think your worst enemy can be yourself..

I am starting to appreciate what happened to me last December of 09, I was diagnosed with severe depression, paranoia and insomnia. (what a combo!)

I'm not seeing my doctor anymore but I've never been great...

Personally, I'd probably find out if I am actually any good at it, because I don't know.

    I always avoid them.

One of these times maybe I will just go for it though, god knows there are plenty of people in my daily life who are asking for a knuckle sandwich.

The greatest thing stopping me fighting, or making me avoid situations like this is fear of causing the other person serious damage or even killing them, because if I ever go for it I will go all the way. I've seen people killed over innocent fights, it's easy to do, and then you have to live with what you did.

I've hit someone, but they didn't hit back so I don't think it counts as a fight...

I appreciate my parents more now than I did before

oh god, I have been in countless fights. but have never started one in my life I'll add. I'm not sure what it has taught me about myself, other than the fact I am extremely tenacious. and the realization I grew up in a violent area.

I appreciate time and loyal people more now than I did before

I swear Edward Norton is haunting me. Everywhere I look its Fight Club or American History X or 25th Hour. lol

I know what being in fights have taught me. They've taught me that I have a short temper when in comes to my family. Fuck with them and I'll get ethnic on your ass.

I appreciate myself and my judgment more. Trust in yourself. :)

I was in a lot of fights when I was younger. It taught me that I had anger problems.

If you've never let things proceed to the act of physical violence in order to "solve something" where it's not actually needed, then you can safely assume you are most likely not one who gets swept away by petty quarrels, insults, and incidents from somebody else who may simply just be having a bad day or doesn't know how else to deal with their own particular difficulties. I'd say if that's the case, you know a lot about yourself. You know what it takes to control yourself. You master yourself. You realize the insignificance of thinking there is something to prove by harming a fellow individual.

Fighting, know this, there is always somebody stronger, and always somebody weaker. We might as well punch little children if that's how we intend to prove ourselves as something higher then the rest.

yea fighting taught me that fighting is stupid

but when i was younger and stood up for myself, i learned that i could get my ass kicked - but at least then "the bully" would stop fucking with me

One time a bully got in my face, acting like he was going to hit me, and I said, why you so close to me ****** are you trying to kiss me? I'm surprised he didn't woop my ass then and there, instead he walked away embarrassed with his friends and proceeded to fight me after school. I got my ass wooped. hahaha. But it totally beat my fear of getting beat up, no puns intended there, when you think about getting punched, it seems like it's gonna be so damn horrible, but it happens so fast and the pain blows over so quickly you don't even notice how bad it was til afterward. Ramblin

I am not real sure I wanted to know about me and what I learned about myself through violence.

At first it was self preservation. Then I started to like violence.

That scared the hell out of me.

I appreciate the ability that I have now to avoid unnecessary violence.

Yeah there is no denying that, if you're getting slapped around with a 9 iron you'll be feeling something then and later. And that's fucked up dude, I've been jumped myself before. It's a shock. I'm not saying anything against sticking up for yourself, I'm just saying that resorting to violence if it's not necessary is unnecessary, basically. And giving lip to a group of people when you're by yourself is nothing short of being not so swift.
