Hey folks! :2thumbsup: First post for me... I'm relatively new to pot (first smoke was half a year ago in freshman year of college) and not a regular smoker, but it's something I love when I get the chance. So please excuse any ignorance on my part as I try to learn more. A few weeks back, I vaped for the first time using my friend's Magic Flight Launch Box, smoking what was apparently the grower's original strain, and a sativa dominant (or pure sativa?) variety. Pretty strong. Overall it was a fantastic experience, but for the first ten minutes or so after the high kicked in, I started to have a mini panic attack when I noticed that my heart was beating extremely rapidly and my body was uncontrollably twitching (I'm a bit of a twitcher but never that bad). It certainly wasn't enjoyable, and I think it might have been because I took too many hits when I had never vaped or tried a sativa before...my friend (an experienced smoker) took 4 or 5 hits, but I took 8 or 9 because I wasn't paying too much attention and that's close to what I take on a bong...It took some really mellow music and my girlfriend to calm me down, and after that I felt awesome, but I want a better experience next time. So what would you recommend to avoid that situation again? What's a good number of hits for a vape if smoking a sativa and any other advice? Thanks!!! :sunny:
It depends on how big a "hit" is and your own individual body chemistry and tolerance. For a new smoker like you I would say take no more then 2-3 hits and wait to see how you feel. You can always take more, but you can not go back and take less. A sativa will be more of a head high so it could be easier to have a panic attack from too much compared to a indica although both can really rock a new smoker. There is no special approach to smoking a sativa.
I bought a magic flight box vape and it's lame. Apparently that means I'm not using it correctly but I think I do but I don't know, I don't feel baked. I just feel buzzed. Go tha bong!
Didn't like it? I guess it's all personal taste but I find it's much easier on the lungs, has better taste, gives a better high, and it's a lot healthier as I understand it. My friend said that how well it works is really sensitive to the strength of your draw and that the draw whip it comes with doesn't give much control so maybe that was the problem? We used a different mouthpiece.
You can't really judge by the number of 'hits', because it is going to be different depending on the type of weed, how long you pull on it, how fresh the battery you're using is. Like unfocusedanakin said, just take a couple of hits and then wait 5 minutes. Then take more if you need more.
One vape hit does not equal one regular hit. So I'd say you may be good for 5-10 depending on how well it is pulling, if the vapor seems thick, maybe just two to 3
