    Hello.

I can usually make an item, depending on the detail on it, in a few hours. When I first started out sewing, things took me a bit longer. My first dress took me two weekends to make.

I think the most I have ever made in one day was 3 skirts, a few tops and a few bags.

It just depends on how focused I am and if I need to get certain things done.

    Holy moly mama!

I average about 2-3 days per piece. Depending on my kids and how motivated I am to finish it.

Yeah, I'm that way with things I want to put alot of detail on, but for basic things, I can usually whip them out pretty quickly. I'm really big on double stitching, serging, making sure seams are strong and can withstand alot of use.

Usually if I end up in a major sewing mode, I am focused on nothing but sewing (that means husband is around to hang out with kids of course) and I don't stop to eat or anything.... I haven't been that way in a really long time.

The other day I made two messenger bags and two pillows. That was an all day event.

I can usually make a skirt for me or an outfit for my son in an afternoon. Today I am in process of a pair of cotton pants that are lined with black hemp jersey. The t-shirt is hemp jersey but the sleeves match the pants. They are black with little volkswagon bugs and peace signs all over them. I hope they don't look to girly for him. Some of the cars are pink but most are different colors. There are a few tiny flowers on them as well. Anyway, if I can I'll post a picture later. But if I don't get off this computer I won't get them done. Ha Ha.

I am s-l-o-w when it comes to sewing. Just about everything seems to take forever. I can remember a couple of times when I have sat down to make something and finished the same day, but that doesn't happen too much. I think I just have too many things going on at once. I'm always sewing, cooking, doing laundry, beading, stitching, running after kids/husband/pets, getting distracted by the computer. I'm not very focused :&

I did a skirt last night, a fairly intricate one, in about 4 hours, but I'm not quite done yet, I figure 2 or 3 more will go into once I do the appliques etc...

Normally I can get 1-2 really good things in a day though.

Wow some of you are cranking out the patchies!! I am so slow. I space off and watch TV while I am sewing. It usually takes me a few days to finish a dress.
