How many of you get pain pills after a root canal?

For the first time I saw a dentist who did not want to perscribe them for me after a root canal. I got a little pissed and he finally gave me 4 Viccodin. I thought his hesitation was odd. After two Viccodin I am in a lot of pain still. I have never had an addiction to pain pills so that is not it.
Do you usually get pain killers after a root canal.

 

never had a root canal...but got some pills for my wisdom tooth extraction..even though most of the pain was during the extraction and not after

 

I got nothing after a root canal...But you forget, I'm hardcore...

 

I have got them after an extraction.
I have never had a root canal tho.
I don't even take but the 1st one tho, for when the numb wears off.. and then ust ibuprofen...pain pills stronger than that make me full yucky and loopy.

 

I have a very low pain tolerance. I need a dentist who understands that. I think I may need a new dentist.
I may need to search for a female dentist. They seem more understanding with pain issues. Has anyone else noticed this?

 

No, in fact I didn't even have any pain after the numbness went away.

 

Last week I went to the ER and they just threw some Vicodin at me.

The doctor thanked me for making her laugh a lot. I think she hooked me up for being such a cheerful patient at 11 at night.

 

my dentist is a total stoner so he prescribes codeine and vicodin whether you need it or not

 

Mine told me to take advil if I had any pain.

 

I don't think I got them after a root canal. I was told to take a lot of IBprophen. I did get some Flexeril because I have TMJ and my jaw was killing me during the root canal and then after the canal for a couple of weeks. I can't keep my mouth open for long periods of time. lol

Did they numb you up pretty good with novicain? They had to give me 3 shots because it wouldn't take. Then I drooled for the rest of the day.

My pain tolerance is very low too. It's sad actually. Bill has a very high pain tolerance so we butt heads sometimes when I'm whining about my pain level.

No, I took two 7.5 viccodins. I feel a lot better now, but am just peeved that he was so reluctant to perscribe me pain killers. I think I am going to order some tramadol on-line so I do not have to switch dentists.
I got 3 shots. I am hard to numb too.

 

What did you say to them to get pain pills?

 

My OBG gave me Tramadol (Ultram). It's alright but not as good as Vicodin. I've never ordered pills online before. Do you actually get the real thing without a script?

I had an abscess removed.

I was making a lot of jokes while it was happening.

From what I've heard dentists are the most restrictive for narcotics. I don't really care I had no pain.

 

Maybe the nurse thought you would after you left so she wanted to make sure you stayed cheerful.

And please everyone, never take more than a few viocodin at a time.

Tylenol destroys your liver

 

It can also make one dependent and a bitch to get off of. Especially if you feel like hell when you don't take them. Like Chronic Pain problems.

And yeah, I bet that was why. 30 was completely unnecessary though.

 

Oh yeah. Pill addictions are no good.
