I want to get mine as soon as possible, but I've seen 1 inch dreadies before and they look like ass. So what's the best length to dread up? P.S. I'm at 1.5 inches.
not an inch, but short is nice because they will become really really tight as they grow very quickly, easy maintinence for the time maintinence is needed. I grew my hair out from scratch withno combs or anything, and they locked up very very tightly and continued to grow very tightly from the root.
backombing about 4-5 atleast but nautral just put down the comb and get sime dread shampoo.. i recomend knotty boy
my hair was about 3 inches when I got mine done they kinda looked realy thin locks, 18 months on the've phatened up a little
Ok, so the majority is between, 7 - 30 inches. That's cool. I'll probably do 'em up at maybe 5 inches. P.S. Could I let 'em go natural if I use dread shampoo?
^^ ya dude stop combing and using regular shampoo and conditioner.. wash once a week amy be less for natural and in a year you will be proud
Mine was about four inches in the front. The back was about half an inch long.. I just let that grow out and it locked by itself. I had the trendy long front, spiky back thing goin' on.
Mine was between 1 and 5 inches depending on the location on my head. The 5 inch places are doing fine but all the backcombing on the short ones came out. I just left that hair loose (it's at the base of my skull) and I figure it'll do what it wants when it wants. Sunny
so, as for methods, you can backcomb, use the special shampoo, or just barely ever wash your hair? are there more than that? roughly how long would each of those take? my hair is roughly 3 inches, well right at the bangs zey are, at least thats what my mom just told me....(she dont know i want them)....would that be long enough to begin one of these methods?
Yeah, that's pretty much what happened with mine. The back has formed itself into some nice fatties.. but I still have a lot of loose, straight hair around my neck.
i's is likin some answers ......anywho i actually went an measured the front part of my hair an it was like almost six inches...i also took a regular comb and did some backcombing just for some fun and it seemed to get real tangled after only a few small combs....so could i just go with backcombing my hair? i went to knotty boy for some info and they said to use wax and i really am not likin that idea so any help would be appreciated
