I am going to the Netherlands Mid-October, I would like to take a day trip to Antwerp,Belgium. How long does it take by train? How much would it cost? What would be the best train station to arrive at? Thank you for your help.

I think from Antwerp to Amsterdam it takes 7 hours by train. I dunno how long it takes from the UK though. Check out the rail companies' web schedule.

By train getting to the Antwerp central station will take you a little under three hours, with one stop-over (leaving from Amsterdam Central station obviously).

Going to Antwerp Berchem station, which isn't in the exact center of Antwerp but has decent connections to get there it'll take you a little over two hours without a stop-over.

Hope that helps. It's nowhere as far as seven hours of traveling, thank goodness :)
