How long do you wait?

I was curious to know how long you guys wait to fill up your gas tanks. Do you wait until you are on E and then fill it up all the way . . . or just put like a couple of bucks in . . . or do you try to keep it full all the time? Me- I usually drive it til it's on E and then I fill it up all the way.

 

I usually fill it at half a tank.

i usually wait til it's between a quarter and on E....

 

I have been told that it is not good to wait until it's on E to fill your tank. Any sediment on the bottom of your tank will be flushed into the engine.

 

My scooter ran out of gas 2 years ago so I threw it away.

 

i wait until about a 1/4 - E left, then i put 5-10 dollars in it.

 

I wait until it's close to E before filling up the gas tank. I haven't had to make any such decisions because I haven't driven since October, and I don't know the next time I'm gonna drive.

I usually go to the point where my car has to run on my hopes and dreams just to make it to the gas station.

 

My dash is digital, and I usually fill it up when I have about 50 miles left(2 gallons).

 

depends, on long road trips, I wait till it hits "E". for around town I just fill it on payday.
