For those of you who planned your pregnancies, how long did it take to conceive? And how old were you at the time?

edit: (I just realized that I asked this in another post! I am losing my poor mind! lol!)

Me and my brother were planned, not sure about for me, but he took eight months of trying.

I don't have children yet, so obviously can't speak from personal experience. :)

If you were on birth control before you decided that you wanted children it can take a while. If you were on Depo it can take up to a year for your fertility to get back to normal. If you were on pills it takes about three mths for you to get back to your regular fertility. Me and my hubby are now trying for our second child. I have been reading up on it. I was on Depo for almost a year, then on BCP for 6 mths. The Depo was causeing horrible side effects. I have been off BCP for about three mths now. I really want to get preg now, but I don't really expect it to happen for a while, because of the Depo...

Lets see....First one got pregnant the first time I tried. Second it took two months. Third was not planned. This one ( I am pregnant now) got pregnant on the night we were feeling so "in love" and decided to try. So, pretty darn quick! I was 20, 22, 23, 26 How regular are your cycles? I heard it can take as much as a year. If you are pretty regular and have not to many problems and your SO is too I would plan on it being pretty quick. There is a great trying to conceive board my friend goes to where they could give you some KILLER advice and support. its on parenthood.com.

I'm 22 and my cycles are regular and I'm in pretty good health except for smoking. But I'm planning to quit smoking in 2 weeks when I get back from vacation and then we won't start trying to conceive for like 3 weeks (if we start trying then.) And my SO is in good health. So, I don't think it will take long. The women in my family got pregnant very easily when they were around my age. For some it happened the first time they tried. (my mom got pg the 1st time she ever had sex!) And the longest it took someone was 6 months. So, I figure the longest it should take is 6 months. I'm just curious how long it took for others.
