I think they could take care of themselves, or else nuke itself and everybody around them into oblivion.
Well you are going to probably get all types of 'loony' answers from some of the people here. But the truth is Israel does not have that much US support. And what support the US does offer,Israel can do fine without it.If anything the US tries to be Israels 'daddy, telling Israel what to do.Israel does not need or want that. They,Israel have the support of many other countries including China. And Israel would have MORE support from these countries if the US distanced itself.-----The US really supports Saudi Arabia now. This thingy in Iraq some call a war at the cost of 2 trillion dollars and counting has benefitted Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia tells the US to go fuck itself.
Small countries have one problem. They have to import just about everything. Israel has a well equipped military as the neighborhood goes. But small countries also have limited storage capacity. So concentrating things is important. Like uranium. Israel is scared out of it's skin of a close neighbor having as big a stick as it does. Israel is no modern Masada. Time is not on their side. Take your photographs now. x
^^ agreed. plus all the atrocities Israeli militants are performing on Palestinians is pissing off a lot of people in the area. also, palestinian worker parties are gaining strength and momentum, they are ready almost ready to challenge Israel in full insurrection.
I think that it all depends on the level to which the us withdraws it's support. if you mean the bribe money we give them, then they'll have to find another way to shore up their budget. if you mean our military support, then i think they'll be fine, both because of their conscription and nuclear capacity. Countries with the bomb don't really have to worry about being invaded, because the real power in a nuclear bomb is in not using it. if you mean denying American citizens from making monetary transfers to Israel, then i think their economy would collapse, and the future of the state itself would be 50-50.
Letting Irael fend for themselves will never happen, so it's a moot point. They actually determine US foreign policy.
It would hurt Israel economically but they would still have the nuclear deterrent, their could defend themselves. Besides, in a real threat to the country's security, other countries would step in to defend Israel.
Israel only has a nuclear deterrent because we gave it to them. Shouldn't they have some responsibility?
Really? How did YOU come to this conclusion? Where did you hear or read this? Typical Gardener response "Blame America for Everything"
http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/israel/nuke/ I am sure that's why we are to believe the Iranians are out for a bomb... while the Saudis aren't?
