How important is image to you?

I notice lots of people here have dreads, piercings, tatoos, dyed hair, etc. I don't know, I personally think it's goofy. I mean, I know a couple people with dreads and I swear they spend more time on their hair than I do. I just wash and go. I have no piercings whatsoever either. I like it that way, it's natural. I always thought hippys were into just being natural? Yet so many of you do these unnatural things to yourselves.
It's not a big deal, but I'm just wondering if there's anyone else who doesn't alter their body in any major way?

 

I like to feel good about my looks...so I make sure that I have bed hair all the time. And I like my piercings. And I like to be tan. If I can maintain all 3 of these I really dont care about what the rest of me looks like.

 

these hippies you speak of, come in all different shapes and sizes, styles and ways of life- some are naturists, some love to experiment with hair color and tattoos, some love to wear mini skirts, some like ripped jeans, it doesnt matter what material you cover up with, youve got to really get to know a person before you can judge them based on their clothes

 

I don't worry about my image.. i'm like a chameleon cause sometimes, I wear hippy jeans and pearl beading, sometimes, skirt and chemise, sometimes sport clothes..

unless they are bald, then they need to start worrying about growing hair. HAIRZ!!

 

What's really important to me is not your looks but your soul. Your credit can also be taken into account at times.

 

dreads are natural...if you dont bother with your hair and dont shower much they will dread on there own

 

showering sucks...who needs friends anyway

oh so your the kinda guy that gets soap on the roap for you birthday and pourposely cuts off the roap...

I try to look good to me. Different people have different tastes and so what I'm wearing won't appeal to everyone and I respect that.

 

Sometimes,stupid people make fun of the clothes I'm wearing(long dresses and skirts,bohemian clothes etc).

Well..I don't really care because Iove hippie clothes and noone and change my style.

I'd tell them "grow up.. you'll understand that personality is more important.." although I also love hippy clothes...
