Ok, so I thought I had some low confidence but enough to get by, then recently, it has plummeted. I am trying to find out how to fix it and fast. It is ruining my life. How do you rewire your mind? I really am trying to do this on my own versus going to therapy. How do you rewire your mind even if you have obstacles in your way, say voices from other people?
Meditation, yoga, positive reinforcement, stop comparing yourself to others, look in the mirror less, don't analyse yourself. Don't listen to them! (Though it does depend on why they are saying what they say)
for me its about accepting who you are as a person. and changing the negative things you believe about yourself.
Have these personally worked well for you guys? How do you deal with setbacks? How do you deal when you think your self confidence broke a relationship?
my self esteem is pretty high, because i have never cared what people think of me, and that somehow wins their approval? good method for me, i'd say. all of the win with none of the give a fuck if i lose.
well i actually do have an overabundance of apathy, but i still believe i'd rather not care than care.
Accept everything! I know it sounds hard, but once I started to accept myself and others, I became much more comfortable with myself.
For a man (maybe a woman): Start by learning how to punch accurately, never fully extending your elbow, holding back the last inch, get it so you can flick a powerful fist out faster than a ball leaving a tennis raquet. Your fist should close towards the end of the punch, though in my opinion not overley tightly, Bruce lee had a point about flicking fluidity, contact should be top knuckles or top knuckles tapering to middle bone. When you have that sorted, you have not injured your joints by extending your punches too far and you can either build your own boxing/martial arts technique, or simply reside in the knowledge that 'you could fight, even though you were lucky enough to not have to'. In addendum to that, ducking and weaving is not needed in most fights, so you can learn to move your head back only, then you will not even need to use that punch, getting away from morons is not embarrasing. (some balance technique at the legs is useful in combination with this, any form of quick foot movement excercise where you can potentially be unbalanced is enough).
