gross! My laptop keyboard is pretty clean....even if the k is broken

 

I give both my keyboard and mouse pad each a 1.5. But they're both pretty new.
I think your keyboard is due for a cleaning, and your mouse pad needs to be replaced.

 

This is the conclusion I have also reached.

 

If your mouse has not got a ball I don't think you need a mouse mat.

 

I had some problems with my mouse a while back. First, the tracking sensitivity buttons jammed. Shortly after, the tracking wheel started jamming. It eventually got to the point where it wouldn't move at all, and I thought the mechanism had broken.

Before I bought a new mouse, I decided to see whether it was anything inside the mouse stopping it, or something else I could fix. I unscrewed the base and took it apart and... uke:

I don't know how my hand managed to produce that much crap, but the entire body of the mouse was full of it - including a thick, grimy layer of dirt saturating the section with the wheel and buttons to the point that it jammed everything.

I pulled what I could out with my fingers, then got a screwdriver and scraped the rest out. Put it back together and it worked fine.


8.5 out of 10 for grottiness - but 10/10 for easy maintenance and a well-made mouse. I'm still using the same one. It was worth every penny.

 

Wow, that's really gross. I'd give mine a 2, and only because I constantly spill ash on it. My mouse pad is fairly new but stained with ash, so I'm going to give it a 3.

I'd say my laptop's kepboard'd be a 2 for dust, and gunk i've spilled which you cant see, and my stand's keyboard'd be a 1 for dust.

My mousemat is a 0 because its not dusty nor dirty

um keyboard i'd say a 1 (just basically dusty) and the mouse i'd give about a 3 or 4 probably ... it could use a bath

 

There was one on that How Cleans Your House thing the other day that nearly made me spew...like 9 years worth of toast crumbs, marmite stains and God knows what else stains. Our keyboards a 1 for being dusty between the keys, maybe a crumb or 2. Mouse and mousemat are ancient but surprisingly still a sparkly 0

 

well, I have a pron watching issue, so my keys are sometimes gooey, my mouse is a bit crusty too, so I'd give the board a 5 and the mouse a 6.5
