I have had my dreads for about 2 and half weeks and I am just wondering how long it will be until they are a little past my shoulders. My hair typically grows pretty fast when it was straight. I like the dreads short okay but I ultimately want them to be about 2-3 inches below my shoulders. Please just tell me how long it might take. Thanks Below is a picture of what they look like now.
how long is a piece of string??? as long as you want it to be. your hair will take whatever time it normally takes to grow, maybe a small bit longer, dont forget your hair grows from the root, so it should extend as normal, in short, it will take as long as it takes, relax and wait
Lol I've had my dreads for a year and my hair was a similar length to yours, and they have only grown maybe half an inch to an inch. You gotta take into account shrinkage, which is different for everyone. So who knows ^^ Don't expect to have shoulder length ones for at least a year ^^
String doedn't grow, unlike his hair. That was a stupid analogy. It will probly take about 2 years. Your dreads don't look tight at all so they will still do lot's of tightening and shrinking before you notice a gain in length. Dreads take forever to grow at first and then all of a sudden you will gain immense length
I'm not in any hurry. I just wanted to know what people though about it. I understand it will take 1-2 years before they are truly locked but I think that by my birthday, which is in October, that they will formed better and pretty nice looking. They won't be locked and I am not in any hurry and I understand that it takes time. I was so obsessed with my dreads for about 2 weeks and then I just decided that it wasn't worth it and I decided to let it dread like I should. I understand that the lifestyle matches mine exactly and I have learned to just let it knot up with as little maintenance as possible. I wash once a week and I live a block from the ocean so I get plenty of salt water in my hair. What do you recommend I do when I go in the ocean? Should I take a shower when I get out of the water or should I just rinse them with fresh water and make sure that they get dry fully? Thanks
I did this when I first started my dreads. I was a bit sceptical at first but to my dismay it worked quite well
mild or spicy? i think spicy produces the best results oh and it totally locked my hair up. took less than three hours for my entire head to lock up. im never going to cut my locks off now! nevar!
I only used mild so it took about a day and a bit for it to be fully locked. But if I were to go back in time I would defiently use spicy... I mean, the results speak for themself
That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I have actually been gullible enough to look it up and there is no one that says to put taco sauce on your head. That makes no sense. There is no way locks can lock up in a day anyway you go about doing them. Plus I don't want taco sauce gooped up in my dreads. I can't believe that you even posted this.
