How far would you go in legalizing nudity?

There is a range of opinions among nudists on how much nudity should be legalized. Should we have more designated nude areas? Should all beaches be clothing optional? Should all public places be clothing optional? Such as you can walk down the street anywhere naked.

 

Designated nude areas with s a good start and probably much more palatable to the general public which would make acceptance easier

 

Absolutely. They are in Denmark, but their weather is kinda crummy. I would say all of California, Oregon, and Washington (coastal states) should have at least one nude beach, just like Haulover in Miami. I dunno why people get so freaked out over a nude beach, if you don't wanna go, don't go.

 

It should pretty much be the complete opposite of the way it is when it comes to beaches in that most beaches should be clothing optional with the odd one where clothing is mandatory that people have to drive for ages to get to. I know that would never fly so a reasonable concession would be to have clothing mandatory sections at most beaches for those that find nudity objectionable but at the rest of the beach clothing is optional.
I wouldn't make it legal on streets but certainly decriminalised.

 

Every public beach in Alberta should have a Nude Section.

 

There is at least one in each of those states, but sometimes it's a bit of a drive.

 

Legalise or maybe even just decriminalise public nudity, as long as there is no arousal or sexual intention.

 

In a perfect world nudity would be accepted anywhere and everywhere. Guess I can only dream.

 

in amazon jungle its very common. I've already visited an indigenous village in the state of Rondônia in Brazil, and one in the state of Acre, everyone with no clothes, the indigenous people of Acre and northern Amazonas in Brazil seem to be a mixture of Filipinos and Chinese

 

Were you naked while visiting?

 

No, because my parents don't allow me to take it off with clothes, I'm 17 now, at the time I visited the village I was 16, but all the indigenous people and tourists were without clothes or just underwear. When u turn 18, I will visit the village again without clothes. but there are some indigenous villages that make it strange for tourists to be undressed, I suggest you visit more isolated villages if you want to be more comfortable with nudity

Where I live, every summer the local news makes a big deal in PSAs to remind women that they can legally go topless, but no one ever does. Even the topless awareness events only have 5 topless women show up. Also, supposedly you can be "nude as long as you aren't lewd", but anyone who has tested that law gets arrested for other reasons anyway.

I just wish there would be more awareness, to answer the OP's question.

 

I think that is true too, and the cultural conditioning, if nudity was legal tomorrow, I think most still wouldn't do it, at least initially.

 

I'd want it to be places where there is no ambiguity, so no chance of someone complaining and the police becoming involved.

 

Freedom should be a right to everyone on everything guided with a lot of respect for others. We have completely failed in both! I am a lifelong nudist and do not believe you should be allowed to go nude just anywhere especially in public. I would love to see much more acceptance in areas or times such as some parks or beaches could be clothing optional all the time or at certain times. Those in the textile world deserve not to have to see nudity BUT that should not infringe on the nudist, so a compromise is necessary.

 

Not sure if I would rather have a designated nude part to every beach because of gawkers, but I might rather have a number of legal nude beaches that are easy to get to. Honestly, I don't know why people have such hang-ups about being nude, it really is much better than wearing a swimsuit.

I wish that American beaches were a lot more open minded when it comes to mens' swimwear though. If I can't be nude, I enjoy wearing either Speedo style swimsuits or thongs. With the popularity of thongs among women these days, it would be fun for the guys to be able to experience some of the fun of wearing one as well without the usual cr*p from other people.

Back to the nudity issue: I always say that when the summer temps are in the 90's, that people shouldn't be required to wear clothes, it's very uncomfortable when it gets that hot. How I would love to go nude outdoors around my yard during the summer. Getting an all-over tan would be the best part of it!

 

I met my wife at a beach and had on a Speedo type swim suit. I use to wear them all the time to the beach. I would get stares and comments and I just brushed them off. I have neighbors on both sides of me and try not to be nude during the day unless both are gone. A few times when the temp was upper 90s I would go nude in the back yard and didn't care who saw me.

 

Surely, they are Brazilian, given that they are indigenous?

 

Nice story about meeting your wife - I too like wearing Speedo type swimwear. I really enjoy wearing thongs too. I’ve always loved how they look on the women and from the start wanted to try wearing one to see what it was like. I’ve been hooked on them ever since. But going nude is my absolute favorite, if I could go nude all the time to any beach or pool I would do that. I wish I could go nude in my yard but I don’t think the neighbors would appreciate that.
