this site http://www.psychedelic-library.org/braden3.htm suggests that vitamin B-3 aborts acid trips, yet i have taken a b-complex once before with morning glory and tripped balls. this seems to suggest that morning glory displays different action on the brain somehow. i have tried morning glory without vitamin B-3 too and felt overwhelmed with adrenaline until i gave in and took a multivitamin to make my adrenaline levels recede to normal, yet not a single hallucination that time (though it took much less than the time before). i cant figure it out, i thought that the active hallucinagenic constituent worked by triggering adrenaline or adrenaline related compounds but if thats the case morning glory shouldnt produce psychedelic effects when combined with vitamin B-3. anyone have the answer to this?
The only thing I know of that can abort an LSD trip is chlorpromazine (Thorazine). It is considered extreme mental torture to be administered Thorazine, and it has a long list of unpleasant side-effects. Thorazine is only used as an absolute last resort. More commonly used nowadays is diazepam (Valium) or alprazolam (Xanax) to stabilize someone who is at risk of injuring themselves or others. They are both strong depressant drugs with anti-anxiety and calming properties (clearly, that's why they're used). Morning Glory is LSA (lysergic acid amide) and LSD is d-lysergic acid diethylamide. They are two different although similar things. Both are serotonin and dopamine receptor agonists, acting primarily on the 5HT2A serotonin receptors. You cannot trip on adrenaline. I have no idea how B-vitamins interact with LSA. I haven't heard anything about it. With lack of documented scientific information on this, it's possible that such reactions are simply placebo. I don't know.
I tend to think it's all speculation. I used to think morning glory seeds were just a mild hallucinogen, because I was eating the recommended amount. By the time I tried acid and found that a whole 3-way affected me about the same as 1 hit affected others, some people started telling me that I had a B-12 deficiency.
