My girlfriend broke up with me. I don't like to talk to my parents about anything personal. And now I'll have to tell them... Well, eventually. So how do I go about it? I don't want their sympathy either. I just want them to know it's over and I am past it.
I never tell my parents anything like that. They dont even know if I am with somebody. Thats really none of their business.
Well, okay. Here's an example of what I did today. Me: "Hey mum" Mum: "Hey" Me: "Think I'm going to have to split up with CJ" Mum: "Okay. Just dont be too blunt about it" Me: "Of course" Like Fitzy said: Just tell them. If your past it, it shold be easy.
I tell my parents when they ask. The conversation is always like this: "Why hasn't _______ called you lately?" "Oh I'm not dating him anymore." "Why?" "He annoys me." "Okay"
Oh my god, rofl, I like Lode's response the best. But seriously, just tell them, brief explanation as to why (because you know mothers ALWAYS must know, lol), and that's all. You don't owe them much more than that.
When I recently broke up with a boyfriend and I just told them that we broke up and I didn't want to talk about it and we didn't talk about it. So hopefully your parents will just accept it and not want to talk about it. Good luck.
