    Hi NailPolish,

Just a word of advice and a note of caution.

Why do you need to meet more and more stoners in your area??
You're not running for politics are you? :)

Keep a low profile and stay with a small trusted group of friends.
You can enlarge it, but you really have to be careful and picky with who you hang out with.

    Take care,
    Peace

Well, my current source is cool and reliable; but cheap and very poor quality. At work a coworker of mine, an 18 year old guy, told me he could get me some high quality shit... tempting. But that's where my intuition spoke out. It seems waaaay too good to be true for some reason, and I'm not gonna let me greed drag me into possible danger.

I was at a bar a while back for a show and there was this guy there that a bunch of people were saying was an undercover cop. he was wearing a jean jacket and jeans, was bald, and had this weird ear-piece microphone thingy. i think he was with a couple of other guys, too. basically, they really didnt fit in with the general crowd that was there (mostly hippies because of the band).
various friends of mine told me to watch out for him and be careful what I do and say. one of the guys working at the bar even told us that he recognized him as an undercover cop!

a lot of the people there all wound up going to the "afterbar" (for those of you who dont get that, it´s a party at someone´s house for anyone who´s at the bar at closing time. or it´s just close friends. in this case, it was for anyone and everyone). well, this dude shows up at the house and people started to get weirded out. he walks into a room and just sits down - doesnt even ask anybody if he can. after a minute or two, a good friend of mine blurts out, "Dude, I think you´re an undercover cop." totally called him out.

so he starts trying to explain that he´s not, but he´s REALLY trying to say that he´s not. it seemed like he had to be making the effort to try to get people to believe him. and he was all smooth about it - he had a whole list of reasons why he wasnt a cop that he rifled off one after the other.
I think after a while, he finally left, but everyone was really weirded out.

turns out, he´s a friend of one of my neighbors. so now I see this guy every now and then, and the first thing out of his mouth is ALWAYS something about not being a cop. i´ll walk outta my house and he´ll be over at my neighbors´ place standing outside. right away, he shouts something about not being a cop. what the fuck?

and now, he fucking lives on my street! I asked my neighbor if he´s a cop, and he said no. but still..... i kinda think he is. either way, it doesnt really matter too much because I dont intend to ever really have contact with him. i´ve got nothing to hide either, but i still watch out for him peekin´ through my windows or something [IMG]

anyways, sorry for rambling there. i gotta stop topping of my bowls with kief...
when looking out for an undercover, watch to see where their attention is. if they seem to be really aware of what´s going on around them, or are even focusing their attention on a specific person/area, that can make them stick out. cops have a "way" about them. i´ve been around a lot of cops (at the store I work at), both uniformed and undercover. and I can pretty much always tell the undercovers before i know for sure (like seeing a badge on their belt).
also, any look for the obvious signs that they´re trying too hard to play their role. at a Phish show at Alpine Valley, i saw this guy walking around the lot: he was in his mid-forties, wearing jean shorts, brand new tye-dye t-shirt, HAD A MOUSTACHE, was wearing a hat & sunglasses, and had a fanny pack on. it was pretty fucking ridiculous. who the fuck has a serious moustache and wears a fanny pack? undercover cops, that´s who. I think i even saw him later busting someone.

just watch their general body language and how they´re carrying themselves. if you feel anything weird about them at all, just dont even talk to them about weed or anything remotely illegal. like stev90 said, always keep a low profile about smoking just to be safe.

The general rule of thumb used to be that they would never be seen smoking pot or smell like pot. Well the smoking is still true but then this stuff called narcscent came out. It causes a synthetic pot smell so an undercover can drive up to a deal and not look suspicious because the inside of his vehicle reeks of pot.

Agreed. You can sometimes tell if the person is a narc by his clothes or outfit. Sometimes they have unusally clean/ironed clothes or strange facial hair for the person that hey are dressing up as.

shit, I would think if one lone undercover tried to start arresting people at a concert of other likeminded people, and the cop would get it's ass kicked :)
