    That karma really exists?

How do you know that a man as vile as Hitler or Raegan will get what they deserve in the next life?

I know that buddhists view karma and rebirth as consequence to what one does in their life, but how do you know for sure that is so?

Good Tibetans and monks go through hell when they are imprisoned by the chinese, but they just take it. Its noble if its true that their lack of negative action will keep their karmic slate clean, but what if those chinese bastards dont get what they deserve? What if karma doesnt exist? They spend years hurting peaceful people, but they dont get any retribution?

let me stop myself from rambling?

Is karma really true? How do you know?

Im trying to believe, but if im cornered by a soldier, i will probably defend myself to the death if karma is really how i see it, i desperate belief that gives one a sense of closure to respond to the great injustices of this world.

Karma, as I understand it, isn't retribution or some sort of of "divine justice" that will give closure in the end.

It's like any other religious concept, it requires a leap of faith to believe in it.

    Not really,
if you just look around karma is so apparent, there is no denying the balance.

If you don't see it that way, oh well.

Does it really matter behaviorally? If we didn't believe in karma or heaven or supernatural retribution, would our lives be different?

Karma is as does. Hitler and Reagan are their own vileness. You are what you do and all that - know them by their works.

You will have to meditate to find out for sure.

If viewed logically and scientifically, there must be an effect for every cause and a cause for every effect. If 'something' affects you, then where did its genesis begin? Buddhism, says that it begins with thought. The problem with karma is that we attribute it to a past life, a re-incarnation. Since we can't remember our past lives then what good is it? That is the logical fallacy, because that is a rationalisation which ignores the fact that we are here in spite of ourselves. The mind, therefore, when it cannot comprehend why something happened will find peace in the idea that it is because of karma. This is philosophy. But karma is nothing but thought, desires, in action.

If someone tells you their past lives, would you believe them? The answer would be that you would ask the same question, "How do you know for sure?" And if the answer is, "I know because I have no doubt," then what will you do?

The question is existential so the answer must be experiential. You will have to find out your own answers because the answers of others will always be unacceptable.

If you see past lives, are they really yours? How will you know for sure? If they are nothing but imaginings then why can't the present life be nothing but an imagining?

Since belief is part of the mind, first find out about the mind. Forget about belief and find out for yourself through meditation.
