How do you interpret being stoned?

I see smoking weed as turning a dial inside my brain.

every brain function is like an audio channel and weed is like turning up all the levels. different strains turn up different channels at differnet amounts.

at low to moderate levels of increase, everything is crisp. you can hear all the noises within the output of the chanels, and they really hit your ears and make you feel them.


When the levels get too high, the signal begins to clip and get distorted. at lower levels of clipping, harmonies combine and enhance sounds, and create the illusion of more notes being played, perception of new harmonies. the sound is punchy and effective but has a blunt (yet not smooth, riddled with spikes and peaks) sort of edge to it, bellowing fullness.


at "(we were) really really high" this becomes a completely different, more intense sound when this occus, but just like if you turn your overdrive pedal up for your guitar all the way, if you get too stoned, you loose all sense of reality and it sounds like goop. The sounds start sounding different to how they once were, and there are so many links between different harmonies and distortions within the master chanel, that each sound becomes indistinguishable.

if you didnt realise, im referring to brain processes remember, not the sounds i hear when im stoned.


what sorts of analogies can you give to aspects of being stoned

 

I dunno, I just see being high as having my senses and awareness turned up. Like, normally I'm under water (you know how sounds are when you're underwater) but getting stoned gets me above the water's surface, sights and sounds are clear.

 

When I'm stoned and I look at a plant, or another human or the sky, or water (or anything) I always see it in great detail, all five senses working on another level. Take a plant for instance, its a living breathing organism, (and if you got some killer psychedelic music in the background) you can actually feel how the plant IS, its being. It turns toward the sun and is feeding, and growing, and surviving. Or another human is very trippy, because theres so many things that is beautiful about life, every breath you take, you in-hale, and ex-hale its new life everytime, its being, you just know you exist and the other person exists. You look to the sky and then feel so infinitly small and realize that everything out there is space and empty, spinning for no apperant reason. Then you look harder and Everything then seems to have a purpose, a big blue rock glistening as our star shines through it and making it light up like all the other stars in the sky. And your at the point where all the petty things don't matter, and you realize that its a gift being human and being able to think what ever the fuck you want.

Alright, I can def. tell when it hits, its like, I go deeper into my own mind and experience the world through a window, instead of through my eyes.

Sounds become louder, and I can concentrate a little better, but not for long.

I catch things I would normally pay no attention to in sober life. Its hard to explain the feeling I get, but it hits all at once, its like, I dont know, its like love you cant explain it that well.

I know the feeling, and its been almost a week, and I want it back soon! ,lol.

Its a real spiritual experience. Puts you back on the spiritual level of life, and takes u out of the physical world.

And It is def. what the previous posters Stoner Bill and the other guy said.

LIke you can feel music, instead of just hearing it, u feel it, see it, taste it everything, its a melting of the senses.

Its like all the sesnes combine into one large sense, plus one. Its awesome experience. I love sharing it with new people.

All of these are excellent points, and I must say that I feel the exact same way when I'm high as is being described by you all.When I'm high though I feel kind of like my third eye is opening so-to-speak. I thirst for knowledge and feel so inspired to learn and seek truth. It's an altered realm of counsciousness that I just love to observe while I'm inside of it. I feel like my creativity has just multiplied by like a thousand! My friends and I sit and play music, we talk philosophy, and it's totally fucking cool...The purpose of life is to understand life, and you do that by opening your third eye..The eye of understanding that can see not only visual aspects of the world but spiritual and can see truth..This is the goal I hope that the human race is striving for and when I smoke weed it's like my third eye being open just a little bit, and while it's open my mind just sucks and absorbs all of the knowledge, understanding, and truth it can before it closes shut again. When, you're not high you still have that memory of your better understanding of the world, and that can help you open your eye the rest of the way with the aid of the drug too. I know how completely ridiculous this must sound to non-smokers and I know that to them it just sounds like a bunch oif hippy garbage, but I know it's not. Weed is an imagination enhancer that can be used for progression of mind and a meditative tool, not just recreation. People see the bad image given to this throgh the media and authority and pass false judgements on this. That's why you always "THINK FOR YOURSELF AND QUESTION AUTHORITY"-Socrates
