    In real life its easier to right the wrong, depends on what options you have available to you. Use your imagination . . . for example I feel ethically OK exposing a scammer to the police, or his parents if he is young :) infiltrate his social network and blow it up. So many routes you can take (that dont involve physical violence). works like a charm. Online its for all intents and purposes impossible, learn how to cut your losses and raise the red flag about the source, learn from your mistakes. It happens to the best of us eventually. First step is accept that if you are in the business of acquiring new sources regularly, it is statistically inevitable that at some point you WILL be scammed, simply accept that as a premise. Now do everything you can to minimize the losses. If something is too good to be true, it usually is. That rule is the litmus test.
