    Bleedin' Tarot again! :D

I remember someone who rolled dice all the time and it became compulsive, ... every decision was decided by the dice to the point it seemed she had no will of her own. My poor friend was riding in her van somewhere and she dumped him at the side of the motorway a couple of hundred miles from home because the dice said so.

I've actually nothing against tarot in themselves, ... just when it stops people thinking for themselves.

Yes liquidlight, addictions/compulsions - as far as asking questions, just ask a damn question. Well okay, you probably want to avoid yes/no questions. Try something like: What would be the consequences of this choice? How will my life play out in the next year? If I became serious about this person, what would our relationship be like?

Years ago I asked that question about the woman I was getting serious about, and the answer came back not so good. So I asked again, in a slightly different way, and the answer still came out not so good. So I asked what the outcome would be if I tried a relationship with a different woman, and the answer STILL came out not so good. Seventeen years down the road, I understand those Tarot readings. I married the woman I was asking the cards about, and the relationship has been very hard. No relationship I could have found would have given me the joy I hoped for. Sometimes that's just the way it goes. Point is: Whichever oracle you choose, Tarot cards or something else, the oracle will tell you what's what, even if the answer is not to your liking.

i dont really ask questions, i use the cards more to "guide", but when i do a reading for someone else i have them think of a question in their mind and somehow it usually gets answered. yes or no type of questions never really worked out for me, mostly because it's not really time for me to know the answer yet. if it was time, i would know.

i just said i dont really ask questions. not specific questions anyway. other people might, but i dont ask them what their questions are. i havent really been doing it for that long, but i wanted to give my insight. i dont even really do cards for myself because i think what i want to happen influences what i interpret the cards as. usually people that want me to do them want to know answers regarding their relationship.

for some people , how a question is phrased is very important . they are very immersed in social language - it's rules and manipulations . it is not pure thinking where the intent of a question is quite enough .

a question can be phrased to manipulate a certain sort of answer - like one that demands a yes/no response . it is object-oriented . mostly the trouble is living in an object oriented society and language gets enslaved to serve it and not all that artfully .

i don't seem quite smart enough today to explain it better .

well , i had to go outside for a minute - and now i do recall an example of an exasperatingly nearly impossible question .

i was in the forest with an oracle wheel and now and then a person walking by along the trail would stop and play . a woman i am thinking of had a silent question . so she gave the wheel a spin . what's it say? , she asks . hmm .. i see it is the Opposition symbol . it could mean no or it could mean the opposite of the next spin . as she stands there i get all serious and just firmly declare NO . oh , she looks all shocked and flustered and walks away all disturbed looking back at me a couple of times .

days and days later we meet on the path and she's all smiley . she says she wants to tell me what her question was . ok , i say , what ? she tells me it was " will i have a good time here at this gathering ? "

    in this beautiful forest ?

    yes , here .

with these people of peace and love ?

yes , with these . and i've had a very good time after all .
