I don't believe the ancient aliens theory at all. I read a lot about not only Stonehenge, but also other stone circles like it, when I was in college.
One story was that some of the stones used in Stonehenge were moved there ( by people) from a stone circle already in existence in Ireland, dragged to the Salisbury Plains . For example, the bluestones used were said to have come from another older circle in Wales, the Waun Mawn. This theory, an ancient legend, said that the stones, having been collected, were then assembled by giants into a new arrangement. You can read about it, but the History Channel aired a show called The Giants of Stonehenge-- or something like that. There was a guy on that show who exhibited a huge human skull from one of these giants.
It is believed that the people who dragged the stones to their present location did so by rolling them across balls. To me, this is far more believable than the alien angle.
I can't remember many of the particulars regarding the assembly of Stonehenge, but I do believe that they are man made, using human strength and ingenuity, not built by aliens.
According to the show I saw on the History Channel, a number of giant skeletons have been found in the area.

Horses, manpower, timbers/planks? I don't know if they would've had pully systems that far back?

I second this. Nearly every other explanation is more believable than aliens imho.
Ironic that History Channel has to debunk this theory since they were the ones who got it rolling in the first place.

How did they put rock on top in Stonehenge?

To erect a stone, people dug a large hole with a sloping side. The back of the hole was lined with a row of wooden stakes. The stone was then moved into position and hauled upright using plant fibre ropes and probably a wooden A-frame. Weights may have been used to help tip the stone upright.

No idear how they did it...same as a lot of other constructions/monoliths all over the world.

So far i havent seen any real proof(mainstream or otherwise)......just a lot of interesting theory s. So ill keep my options open on the subject(s), we do seem to miss/overlook something(timeline/planet) imo.

I do love this stuff :D

Personally, I think they buried the uprights in a mound then moved the top piece up their hill into position then removed all the dirt from around the stones.
Just rolled up over logs by an ox or something and done.
