how about not back combing...?

    I have been getting suggestions on doing my dreads
    and tho my hair is a bit short now....
    I think I am almost ready to start

    so have ya..(anybody)...heard much on not back combing
    just looking for more info..

    I didn't backcomb mine. I just stopped conditioning and stopped combing and started palm rolling after I washed once a week or so.

    Personally, I decided not to backcomb because I wanted to do it naturally, but some folks do it to get them started.

    yeah I have a pretty good start..even tho my hair is only about 3 inches or so...
    hmm...curly hair seems to be coming in handy :p

    Yeah curly hair seems to be pretty easy to dread...along with having thick hair. I had relatively thick hair that would get tangly really easily, so it wasn't hard to begin the natural dreading process on my hair...

    Wow yours were started without backcombing? I didn't know that. They look great! How old are they?

    They will be a year in August...so 11 months.

    They are my babies!

    Thanks! I think they are forming pretty well on their own...although I still have a lot of loose hairs and fly aways...I think they are doing well for themselves...
