iits not my favourite i must say, the attemped ska esq song just doesnt do it, and they use far too many effects on roberts voice, there are 3 tracks off it i like song remains the same, rain song and no quater, appart from that i think its a bit of a let down
Yet another parallel Scarlett... the first piece of vinyl I ever purchased and still my favorite Zep release. Although #4 is permantently ingrained into my psyche from too many mind altering listening experiences. Nice album cover art too!
wow i havent listened to that in ages. isnt the song "houses of the holy" on another album though, i always thought that was kinda cool. my favorite is the album with kashmir on it, which one is that, i used to know all the zepplin, but now . . .
its not their most solid...but it does have the rain song on which has got to make the top 3 zeppelin songs
you mean houses of the holy the album...I'd say is pretty good, It's got great tunes like TSRTS and No quarter. The album where you find the song houses of the holy is physical graffiti which is also a masterpiece...Love zep
Well, it's pretty obvious what I think of it.. lol .. It's a great album... I mean how can you fault an album with songs like 'Over The Hills And Far Away', 'The Rain Song' and 'No Quarter' on it? The weakest songs on the album I think are 'The Crunge' and 'D'yer Mak'er' ... I think they're a bit throwaway, but intended as just that though... Oh, and Robert's vocals being speeded up on some tracks does make it a tad too much maybe for the casual fan.. lol
I love Led Zeppelin out of all the other rock bands. They're just the greatest. I bought this two years ago and I listened to the entire album, and I'm glad I bought it. Best move I ever made. They just rule. Love em. Houses of the Holy is indeed one of the best albums ever made.
I'm torn over this album. I love Zep. I love most of the songs on it..But as an album in and of itself, I like everything else they did better.
(Bonham/Jones/Page/Plant) Oh oh oh oh oh oh You don't have to go oh oh oh oh oh You don't have to go oh oh oh oh oh Baby please don't go. Ay ay ay ay ay ay All those tears I cry ay ay ay ay ay All those tears I cry ay ay ay ay ay Baby please don't go. *CHORUS When I read the letter you wrote, it made me mad mad mad When I read the news that it brought me, it made me sad sad sad. But I still love you so, I can't let you go I love you- ooh baby I love you. Oh oh oh oh oh oh Every breath I take oh oh oh oh oh Every move I make oh oh oh oh oh Baby please don't go. Ay ay ay ay ay ay You hurt me to my soul ay ay ay ay ay You hurt me to my soul ay ay ay ay ay Darling please don't go. CHORUS Oh oh oh oh oh oh You don't have to go oh oh oh oh oh You don't have to go oh oh oh oh oh (Baby please don't go)
its an OK album.... not their best by any means, but better than some. Personally, I prefer I, III, and Physical Graffiti. ocean song, no quarter, rain song and over the hills and far away are masterpieces though.
i don't recall if i have said this in this thread or elsewhere....but i shall say it once again....there isn't one album of led zepplin's that i don't like.....
Such amazing lyrics... Maybe it was just some kind of fit of boredom that Zep was in? Aside from that, though, HOTH is most likely my favorite album besides How The West Was Won. The Rain Song definately makes up for The Crunge and D'yer M'aker though. Beautiful acoustic!
HOTH up there with the best, definately. HOTH has some draw-backs as previously stated. They had a lot of creativity flowing on that album, thus the out-come The Rain Song, TSRTS, and No Quarter.
