Hot springs--clothing optional, wild and tame

I'm looking for hot springs that will allow me to soak with my partner (so, bye bye Indian Springs Resort and gender segregation).
Short hikes OK, clothing optional OK.
what are some good options?

 

HHB, no, Strawberry is not the same... look it up. It still has possibilities, however, and I thank you for the reminder (the fire tribe heads up there a bunch in early snow season)

So, I’ve started my “tour” of Colorado hot springs. I’m two in.

AccupunctureJeff is correct about Valley View. I became a land trust member, because, bats.
Three distinct areas, two areas of soaking pools and a swimming pool plus sauna. On-site camping. Day use has started again.

Dakota Hot Springs, formerly the Well, is interesting. It’s not worth the camping in a tent as two prisons light up the night sky. It’s a working folks bar of a hot spring. Fun convos. Cigarettes are fine, even near the pool, but a total weed ban. In a legal state. So everyone vapes in the RVs.
Cover up to be in the office, which is where snacks are.

I spent a whole summer camping through there once. Hot spring after hotspring. We had a book and a printed map.

They have gotten expensive at the PS hotel and hot springs.

the others in town are much more moderate.
I typically have four day weekends in good weather, I should get serious about hitting them all.

That's totally creepy... but perhaps advice to be paid attention to.

I've been through a lot of Yellowstone and there are just a few hot springs appropriate there for people to soak in... the rest are dangerously hot or too acidic to even dip your toe into. Just walking around them on the fragile crusty surrounding can lead to you getting swallowed into boiling hot steaming mud. The walkways are there for a reason.

The mist from hot springs will permanently fog your eyeglass lenses and camera lenses, so be careful!

 

I read Death in the Canyon and still hiked it.

Who goes in 200 degree water for fun? The 108 crab/lobster pots are my absolute upper limit.

 

I spent an entire summer camping across the west with a friend, a small two door hatchback, a tent, sleeping bags, clothes and some food. From hot spring to hot spring all through Colorado was the best. Idaho also had great ones, but the Yellowstone area was the grand prize for hot springs.
