Okay, who can tell me about hooping and weightloss/toning your body? :D

I've been doing some reading over the internet earlier, and I do have a hoop that I made about a month ago... The internet sites said it was great for trimming your waist and toning your abs. I took up hooping solely for the fun of it, but can any of you vouch for the whole body improvement thing?

Cause if it's true... I'm a gonna hoop it up a bit more. :D

It would be good for a little core strengthening, but unless you're doing it hard enough and fast enough to really be breaking a sweat, it won't do much for you cardiovascularly.

However, happiness is good for the health of every organ, so if it brings you joy, then continue to hoop it up! :D

I did some reading up on that heavy hoop thing (my hoop weighs the same as those things.. 3lbs ) and .. well.. I dunno.. it's just been rave reviews all over the sites I've seen. Even on hooping.org.

3 lbs? geeez.. my big hoop was water filled and it was close to 10... not that I 'd recommend that...
lots of lateral trimming, and good cardio IF you dance your hoop and dance hard.
I'm old school cheese head and I learned to hoop AT a show by Ariana's demand (Billy's elder daughter, she was 7)
I neve got over it and when I hoop my sweetie can tell.
which reminds me to get out there before the sun drops along with the temperature!

Yes, it can help a lot. A 2001 or 2002 shape contestant finalist listed hula hooping as her exercise. Her name was Liz Sheppard & I bet you could find that article!
