Homemade bamboo water and ice bong

Pictures of a homemade ice and water bong I made a while back, took 15 mins to make it and rips pretty nice

I wish we had bamboo around here. I'd love to make some smoking devices with it.

 

wow I would rather smoke from that than any glass piece any day. So cool. I might steal this idea if I could find suitable bamboo.

 

I made myself a bamboo bong decades ago. It was nice.
I poured melted paraffin wax into it to coat/waterproof the sides and it never leaked or soaked up any moisture.

Bamboo makes great bongs because they are naturally the right size and shape with built in chambers.

i have a friend that makes bamboo pipes, and he doesnt recommend water w/ bamboo. it might eventually destroy your pipe, bamboo and water don't mix

 

that's why I coated the inside of mine with wax. Worked great as a sealer.

 

noxious, then you were smoking through a wax coated bong - sounds gross. i'd rather just make a new one after it soaked up too much water. well, actually, i'd rather have a glass bong but that is pretty cool for a home-made piece!

 

not gross at all, didn't notice any difference. Used plain paraffin, the type used for canning preserves.
It's not like the wax was getting hot and melting, it was on the inside only.
