I'm considering leaving everything I have here in the midwest, which is very little, and moving to somewhere in Oregon, like Eugene or Corvallis, places that I've read are hippie friendly, and have a relatively large homeless population.

Anyone have any idea how difficult it would be to be homeless in one of those towns? I'm talking just a wandering hippie, dropping acid, smoking cannabis, no real home. One of my main motivations for doing this would be to meet a hippie girl who has a similar mindset as me, and is homeless as well. If anyone has experience doing this that would be awesome.

Where so you live in the Midwest ? I'm from Illinois and have been thinking about doing the same thing myself. Shoot me back a message and who knows..maybe we can be traveling partners.

    Hey I'm in Kenosha Wi.
If you still need a traveling partner send me a message I'm going to Oregon in a few weeks myself man. I'm in getting my affairs in order and collecting a few weeks of unemployment to have some cash to buy supplies when I get there.
Not sure if I am hitchhiking or taking a bus yet though.

I'm about to do the same, I'm trying to decided if I want to go to ashland, eugene, or portland. I would also appreciate anyone could share their experiences or advice.

I ended up not going away to Oregon. I just can't bring myself to do that to my family. They would be devastated. So, now I'm back at college, working on a degree.

Portland is more friendly and has many services for the homeless.

Yep, we're the homeless capital in the Northwest. There seems to be a homeless person on every corner. Just be forewarned that the winters are cold here and the employment is shalow. Once you hit bottom, you might stay there.
