Damn, I just found out the coolest thing evar by accident when I was playing my guitar! All you need is a cell phone (with cool ringtones) and your guitar/amp. Just put on the ringer of your favorite techno tune or whatever, and put the phone near the pickups! Having a nice FX pedal with multiple FX helps...It's soooo cool, ain't it?
what kind of guitar do u play?? and like, how did you learn to play it??? i bought one a few weeks agok, and i KINDA know a few songs, but, did you learn chords?? or did u just kinda learn the songs u were tryin to play?
Well I started off by just lookin at tabs for songs that I already knew well in my head, so I kinda knew the rythm already. That will help your basic fingering skills get better. You have to get an idea of what the best way to finger any given note is. I've got a fender squier, which is like a $100 guitar. As for chords, I've only learned like 3 or 4 and i've been playing for about 7-8 months now. I'm gonna learn them soon, and I would recommend learning them for sure even though they might seem hard at first.
You can use just about any little electronic noisemaker to do that; the guitarist in my group uses a variety of circuit-bent electronic toys in the same manner you describe, routed through various effects. Very cool, indeed!
Yes, my friend, that is the genious of the single coil pickup. Of course, if you can get a humbucker to do it, it's a little rarer... then again, the bridge pickup on my Les Paul is microphonic and I can talk through it. Can't do it with a single coil, but, I do a lot of feedback experimentation... lmao, one of my favorite techniques is to play Buddy Guy's Mary Had A Little Lamb and then then suddenly throw everyone off into a different universe by doing a speedy Eric Johnson style solo and throw in some harmonics while creating feedback with my amps... works better with multiple amps or dual speakered amps, as if I do it with one, it'll get distorted, but when I had two twins together (blackface twin reverb and a cyber-twin), it would kind of do a reverse polarity thing... my equipment is weird as hell. I just use the cyber-twin now. I usually just kept the twin reverb at my grandmother's house with a tele. She was a big CCR fan so I'd play stuff all the time. She died, so I sold those off.... I have too much crap. I put all my time, effort, and cash into seeing just how much blues I can live and breathe.
