Hola. Me llamo Joyce....ummm tengo 16 años... I am currently taking Spanish in school right now and it's not going so well...This is my second year of Spanish. The teacher I have right now teaches Spanish IN Spanish so it is very confusing to understand her sometimes...She also expects a lot from her student so it is even harder. This is only my second week of school and I am already having so much trouble. TT___________TT I would really appriciated if someone can help me with my spanish. I have no Spanish speaking friends and can't afford tutoring....I am in 11th grade which is a very important year for me. I will constantly be putting up questions about Spanish vocab, verbs (the thing I have most trouble with), and grammar. I also need help translating sometimes. Thank you so much....Even if you don't help me, thanks for reading. ^_^ P.S. My first question is if anyone knows any tricks about how to memorize vocab. Also, when my teacher speaks in Spanish, it takes a while for me to understand what she is saying. Any suggestions on how I can...respond(? I don't know the word for it...^_^; ) better?
Hola! I'm Lindsey. I took Spanish all four years of high school and loved it. I might be able to help. My teacher never really started actually teaching IN Spanish until our third year, and even then, she knew that we had no idea what she was talking about most of the time, and made a lot of hand gestures and stuff. I'd say raise your hand and ask questions (in Spanish of course) while your teacher is talking so maybe others who are having trouble with her extreme Spanish will gather courage to do so as well, and maybe she'll get the hint that she might need to teach better lol. As for vocab, my teacher made us write each word (both the Spanish one and the English) seven times each. It's really time-consuming and makes your hand hurt a lot, but it does get the job done.

Umm do you know how to say any of these in Spanish? How do you pronounce this word? How do you say _____ in Spanish? and that's all I can think of for now... Thanks again! ^_^

No problem "How do you say _____ in Spanish?" is "?Como se dice _____ en espanol?" and "How do you pronounce this word?" is "?Como se pronuncia esta palabra?" I said the first one A LOT when I was in Spanish, lol. It just rolls off the tongue now. I'm not so sure about the second one, but I'm fairly certain it's correct.
Yay! Also: "?Que significa ____ in espanol/ingles?" = "What does _____ mean in Spanish/English?" You know, just to switch things up a bit.

Anyway, today, my teacher gave us a worksheet (That we did on Thursday) back to us with corrections. I got a minus on that assignment...TT____TT;; I typed some of the questions that I got wrong...please tell me what the right answer is and why.... ~~~~ 3. El triunfo del amor está relacionado con la a) engaño b) virtud c) capacidad I put (b) 7. El ________ puede proporcionar estabilidad física y emocional. a) dinero b) la indiferencia c) la inteligencia I put (b) 8. El sentimiento opuesto al amor es ______ a) el odio b) la indiferencia c) la inteligencia I put (a) ~~~~ I don't understand why though...I thought I did pretty well on that assignment...=/ I mean, like for #8, isn't it asking what the opposite of love is? Isn't that el odio? Hate? Also, I checked my answer with the guy behind me. He got #3, 7, and 8 wrong also, but he put different answers. The thing that confuses me is that the teacher circled (b) for 3, (b) for 7, and (a) for 8. Is she saying those are the correct answers? But those were the answers I had....

well.. my opinion is just like another opinion so here it is: in 3, i think the answer depends. 3- "The triumph of love is related to the ____" a) deceive b) virtue c) intelligence I would put a but dont know why. 7- "___ can provide fisical and emotional stability." a) money b) indiference c) intelligence I would put b also, but the "correct" answer is a. 8- "The opposite feeling of love is ___" a) hate b) indiference c) intelligence a here. i guess the teachers has his own opinions lol. hope this help! bye!
