Years ago I used to write good. I was in two separate serious accidents and now I have to rebuild my grammar. Any ideas or volunteers out there that can help?
    TIA

Keep doing what you are here, maybe find a few other places to do some typing/writing too... Instant messaging could work as well, its a bit more fast paced.. You could keep a private journal, start blogging.. anything that requires writing in general.. Social networking sites usually afford plenty opportunity for written correspondence..

I have already done a couple pieces and saved them as PDFs. At some point I might put them up.

    Outstanding :)
I feel this forum has a good number of open minded and respectful individuals that would enjoy an opportunity to read some of your writings and offer some productive insights..

Keep at it and I am sure your skills will develop quite naturally as a consequence..

In order to speak and write proper English, choose friends who do the same. If you hang out with illiterates, you'll speak and write like one. Have literate friends review your work. You may also be able to find an English Composition class at a local community college, and enroll on an audit (non-credit) basis.

There's a chance you might want to write in a dialect or English variant. That will work if you're fluent in it, and you know the difference between the dialect and proper English.

American blacks, for example, seem unable to avoid double negatives, disagreement of single/plural cases, and improper declination of verbs. Unless you're Stokely Carmichael and think you have a right to butcher the language, I suggest you choose proper English.

By the way, it's "write well", not "write good".

Had he phrased it as: "Years ago I used to write well", would you be less skeptical?
