I've been trying to cut back on my tv watching but i find myself bored and with nothing to do, so ive just been getting high a lot, not that there is anything particular wrong with getting high, but i decieded to take a break for a couple of weeks and now i find myself at a loss of things to do, such as hobbies and whatnot. i read and listen to music but im looking for like hobbies. any suggestions fellow bretheran? much love to all
Guess it depends on what really gets your interests and the cogs in the creative brain moving. Cameras are cool for me because it involves going places outside the house. It sucks to get stuck in the "all I do is get high" rut.
go to NYC central park west, enough lads who are playing guitar and stuff, join them or get yourself a nice little photocamera and go on exploring!
take up an instrument! and when you learn new things, write music based on it; which will encourage you to learn more new things! that's how to have fun ^_^
Really? :& At some point I've done all of those.. Dammit. Ahh well... Luckily Krav Maga is not so hippyish. Hehe.
hippyish.... drop out of school, do mad amounts of weed and lsd, and play guitar all day and all of the night! while shagging everything and anything, of course. how sad... that sounds like quite the ideal lifestyle for me.
i do lots of photography and play the guitar. but one of my favorite things to do is crochet (blankets, hats, bags, stash pouches, and stuff like that)
Be creative. Make something nice. Paint. I've painted my whole room, the walls and everything. You can do that, or you can paint and draw on your clothes. I love to do that. Maybe you could make presents and give it to people you love. It could be jewllery... or maybe a song. Try to write poetry, too.
thought about converting to Islam? It's really popular these days. I don't really get it, but the kids seem to love it.
start running. long distance trail running is an awesome way to start your day and counters some of the effects of smoking a lot of pot.
I spent like a half hour today playing with this stick I found.Throwing it like a javalin(sp?) needless to say it was awesome.
devote 20-30 minutes to each activity when bored. Doing each activity at least once a week will instantly make you a hippy. 1) read some of Jack Kerouac's books 2) do some yoga 3) make a beaded curtain 4) tie dye something 5) make some hempy necklaces 6) make some candles 7) commit random acts of hugging 8) grow something 9) (learn to) play the guitar 10) expand your mind.... and your all pants into bellbottoms
I like to do taekwondo, read loads, play music, write music and listen to music, go running, walk around forests admiring nature, play with videocameras, and draw. There is just some ideas.
Buy a harmonica (a cheaper one to start—they run from about $15 or less to $25 and up), maybe one that comes with a book (with songs you really want to play, not just old standards). Try to play along with some of your music (I almost said "records"!) and see what works. With just a C harp, which is the only key that's fairly easy to find, you'll be limited (mostly to songs in G), but you don't want to shell out close to $300 for a complete set of 12 keys until you know for sure you're into it and are getting the hang of it. By now, you're probably wondering why you'd play a C harp when the music's in G. It's called "cross-harp" (as opposed to "straight-harp" or playing in the same key), and it takes advantage of the fact that the different placement of the notes gives you a more useful range and makes it easier to bend the notes that sound good bent. I hope you like the advice. If you take it, you'll have almost a two-year head start on me. I was almost 17 when I bought my first one.
make things to smoke out of. Thats what i do. OR make things that you can put around the house to make life just a little easier.
