Guess it depends on what really gets your interests and the cogs in the creative brain moving. Cameras are cool for me because it involves going places outside the house. It sucks to get stuck in the "all I do is get high" rut.

take up an instrument! and when you learn new things, write music based on it; which will encourage you to learn more new things! that's how to have fun ^_^

hippyish.... drop out of school, do mad amounts of weed and lsd, and play guitar all day and all of the night! while shagging everything and anything, of course.

    :p

how sad... that sounds like quite the ideal lifestyle for me. :D

Be creative. Make something nice. Paint. I've painted my whole room, the walls and everything. You can do that, or you can paint and draw on your clothes. I love to do that. Maybe you could make presents and give it to people you love. It could be jewllery... or maybe a song. Try to write poetry, too. :)

thought about converting to Islam? It's really popular these days. I don't really get it, but the kids seem to love it. [IMG]

start running. long distance trail running is an awesome way to start your day and counters some of the effects of smoking a lot of pot.

devote 20-30 minutes to each activity when bored. Doing each activity at least once a week will instantly make you a hippy.
    1) read some of Jack Kerouac's books
    2) do some yoga
    3) make a beaded curtain
    4) tie dye something
    5) make some hempy necklaces
    6) make some candles
    7) commit random acts of hugging
    8) grow something
    9) (learn to) play the guitar
    10) expand your mind.... and your all pants into bellbottoms

I like to do taekwondo, read loads, play music, write music and listen to music, go running, walk around forests admiring nature, play with videocameras, and draw. There is just some ideas.

Buy a harmonica (a cheaper one to start—they run from about $15 or less to $25 and up), maybe one that comes with a book (with songs you really want to play, not just old standards). Try to play along with some of your music (I almost said "records"!) and see what works.

With just a C harp, which is the only key that's fairly easy to find, you'll be limited (mostly to songs in G), but you don't want to shell out close to $300 for a complete set of 12 keys until you know for sure you're into it and are getting the hang of it.

By now, you're probably wondering why you'd play a C harp when the music's in G. It's called "cross-harp" (as opposed to "straight-harp" or playing in the same key), and it takes advantage of the fact that the different placement of the notes gives you a more useful range and makes it easier to bend the notes that sound good bent.

I hope you like the advice. If you take it, you'll have almost a two-year head start on me. I was almost 17 when I bought my first one.
