Has anyone heard of the book 'Hippie'? I was just wondering because hippy.com is mentioned in it. It has a quote from the website. I'm going to buy it next week.
there is another one called hippy, with a flower child on the front and its big with lots of colour pics, that book is good too
Whats funny is that this could potentially be the worst book ever, but because of the title you will buy it anyways. Another instance of blind ignorance.
HAHA!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU'VE WRITTEN!!! womyn- I didn't think people were actually that petty!
Thanks BabyFreak, Who's the author of 'Flower Child'. I'm always on the lookout for books about our old counter culture days. The insights and interpretations of others who experienced those times helps me sort out my own feelings and experiences.
What petty enough to mention it. I've no issues with the word, just a fun way to freak the hell out of people who need it. Anyway they all sound like great book. Shall put them on my 'to read' list.
If we're talking about the same book by Barry Miles, it's awesome. I got it at Barnes and Noble for $19.67 I felt like an asshole spending that much on a book, but it's big with really beautiful photos in it. I highly suggest it...
I also bought it at barnes and noble for the special summer of love price, $19.67! I walked passed the stand all the books were on and I said "I must have it!!" The pictures are most excellent and the book is interesting. To someone like me, who didn't experience the 60s firsthand it's a wonderful book, I dont know if someone who lived through the 60s would say its accurate. But I think it is and I am in love with this book!
I have two books that I haven't read yet. I will eventually but have any of you heard of them? The Hippies Do you believe in magic? The second coming of the 60's generation-- Annie Gottlieb this book was published in the 80's they just caught my attention.. let me know thanks
I just bought a new book called "Hippie" by Barry Miles It documents hippie culture from 1965-1971 in both America and London. it's really good and has tons of amazing pictures.
oh wow yea i tried to see if they had it at my libary...but they didnt! ugh my libary is so small! and i love pictures!
I saw that book at chapters about a week ago but it was too expensive for my penniless wallet , better luck next time.
